Guest Blogger: Cassandra of Coco+Kelley - (My Top picks to start off 2009)

I don't know about the rest of you, but this girl is very ready for 2009! So, when Jen asked me for my top picks to start off the New Year, I was excited to make a list of classics, necessities, and a few truly original pieces all of which I'd love to add to my wardrobe or home this year...

The lotus flower symbolizes renewal, so how perfect would this gorgeous vintage chandelier. I'm really feelin' red these days, so when I saw this dress from Lela Rose with its fun ruffled collar I immediately fell in love. A classic piece with a little flair, this dress would be a welcome addition to the wardrobe for 2009. Those of you who are familiar with coco+kelley know that I can't resist my big cocktail rings! And, since 'mimosa yellow' is the official color for the new year, I figured I might as well choose a ring suited for the occasion - a lemon quartz ring from Monica Vinader.
I love finding unique pieces for my table, and these tumblers are right in line with my taste for originality and simplicity. With their subtle outlines of famous city skylines, they remind me of my travels abroad and at home! If you're a regular reader at Made By Girl you should recognize this poster! I first spotted it here, and contacted the artist, Christopher David Ryan, to see if he would be adding it to his shop. It was up practically the next day! It will be hanging above my bed very very soon. I shouldn't even have to tell you what the last item is on my New Years list! A pair of classic black Louboutin pumps would top off 2009 nicely! I wish you all a fabulous and safe New Year! Here's to a prosperous and healthy 2009.
