Directions:

Design: Breeze Giannasio

Hey guys, aren't you all glad it's Thursday...finally the end of the week! We head to L.A. tomorrow for another quick trip, but tonight the move continues!   Yes, we are moving again - no particular reason except the rent is slightly less & the layout is nicer. It is still in NYC.  With that said, I've been super inspired to start decorating again! Bring it.

I sold several items from my home already, so I could buy a few more things to spruce up the new place.  Some of my inspiration comes from Interior Designer, Breeze Giannasio.  I admire her work & can't get enough of the sophisticated & stylish designs. Breeze has an impressive background, with a Harvard Law degree under her belt and several years experience as a corporate lawyer.  She was born & raised Hawaii, (like my husband!).

After having been in corporate law for 8 years, she went back to her true passion, Interior Design. Looking through her portfolio it's clear that livability, comfort and function ground every design. I love that she also offers online design consultations as well if you're not in her area....Visit her site here

DESIGN: WOOD IN INTERIOR DESIGN

Hello everyone,  its Lisa with another dose of design! As quickly as trends come and go in the design world, it is important to recognize those design elements that are constantly being reinvented and used in unique, innovative ways. A favorite of mine (that I love solely because it really reminds me of fall) is wood. Wood is no longer restricted to a medium for furniture and flooring, it is really something that can be a part of every single design surface. It can be used for funky counter tops, shelving, herringbone wall panels, lighting, you name it!

Take this space via apartment therapy for example-the live edge wood countertop is applied to the stark white, contemporary countertop/cabinets and it completely steals the show. So fresh and organic feeling and it brings a new life to a wood species and tone that may have seemed dated or one-note.

Or this super clean space via the contemporist, where the stark black and white space is contrasted with a warm, rustic wood paneling really captures wood in an amazing way.

And how about wooden staircases taken to a whole new level? This particular one was designed by Arcquitectura en Movimiento via the Stylish Eve and really showcases how amazing wood can really look!

Wood can be a part of your home in so many fun ways, here are some of my favorite wood pieces right now!

I KNOW some of you may NOT wear #1 or #7 - they're def a little wild, but I say experiment a little & try something different.  Black all the time can be boring! -  Happy shopping!

West Elm 15% off Sale

Hey guys, sorry I've been away... I had some personal things to take care of in California - but now I'm back.

We are literally coming back & getting ready to move to a new apartment soon. So...enter, West Elm. Last year I hosted a Holiday event at their store here in NYC, and it was a blast. Lots of ladies came out to do some DIY projects while I showed them a few "how -'to's" - You can see photos of the event here.  So speaking of West Elm, I'll be moving to a new apartment this month & that means new decorating is in store.

I've been looking at some items from West Elm to decorate the new place. Here is a roundup of a few of my favorite pieces. This Addison desk with antique metal brass base is gorgeous don't you think?? Speaking of shopping, they're also offering an additional 15% off of their clearance items right now - that sale goes on until this Monday, so definitely take advantage of that!
