FOX hotel

Speaking of hotels, I came across Hotel Fox and i'm glad I did. Never thought of visiting Copenhagen, Denmark but after seeing this place my mind has changed! What a cool experience it would be to stay in such a hotel. I've never seen anything like it. They have 61 rooms and each room is an individual piece of art. From whacky comical styles to strict graphic design! Very cool stuff!

Four Star Italy

Don't you just love to travel? Especially if you end up staying in a 4 star hotel in Italy. I have never been but am dying to go. Perhaps sometime this year i will make it to Italy or France.
When I looked at these pictures I felt motivated to work harder so I can take this long awaited vacation. There's something about staying in a nicely decorated hotel that I love. Anyone been to Italy ? These images all from Starhotels.

New York, New York

I was raised in NYC & I love it so much there! Unfortunately, I moved because the price of living was excessive and at the time I couldn't afford to buy real estate. But the first chance I get I'll purchase my own townhome. That is what I dream about. This company Rosenberg Kolb Architects works right out of East 9th street (Lower East side). They specialize in a variety of projects from Hospitality to office interiors. Here are some of the residential projects they created. Makes me want to work that much harder. Such inspiration!

Banning Light BULBS ??

Not just light bulbs, but Incandescent ones. So, this post is about Canada banning incandescent light bulbs by 2012 . Interesting, why don't they think of these ideas here in the U.S.? or China (who are the largest contributors of harmful emissions). They say that switching to more efficient lighting is one of the easiest & effective ways to reduce energy & harmful emissions & would reduce the harmful gas by more than 6 million tons per year. Home Decor might look different but its a great Idea!

Making room for a sewing area

In my home office I set aside another corner for my little sewing machine & desk. Next time I will show you my main desk area. Anyhow, while shopping at Walmart for ENERGY saving bulbs, I came across these cool wooden letters. I had to have them So i painted them in a cool turquoise blue and will hang them up over my main desk. For now, i've placed them there to take the shots. I need a few more decor items for this wall next to my mirror....not sure what though....any ideas? The baby pink mirror was gold, I also painted that. The red piece under the sewing machine is a soft antique red leather which i LOVE! Same leather i used to make the 'Red Hot' table on my site. www.madebygirl.com

Our beautiful Earth in trouble

EARTH DAY came and went as it does every year, but this year it triggered a lot of emotional feelings in me. After viewing "An inconvenient truth" last year and shows on the discovery channel about global warming, I feel an obligation to do something. We can't deny that global warming is in effect and we're feeling the results of what we've created here on our planet (with snow falling for the first time in Japan in over 130 yrs and here in Vegas when it rarely EVER snows). We need to stop worrying about flickers in lights and humming sounds, and place as many of these ENERGY efficient bulbs throughout our homes. I purchased a few of them yesterday and placed them in & will purchase more the end of this month. The bulbs i purchased from WalMart do not make any noise or flicker. I agree, they're more expensive but last so much longer and will decrease your energy bill. Did you know over its lifetime, one compact fluorescent bulb prevents 1,000 - 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide from heating the atmosphere. So, if we all replaced five of our high-use household incandescents with compact flourescents we'd collectively prevent "more than one trillion pounds of greenhouse gases" from entering the air. I think that is a huge improvement! Hope this will inspire you all to take action while decorating your homes. Join the Global Warming Virtual March.
