Design: Art Inspired Room

Good morning everyone! I'm Katie from H2 Design.  I am thrilled to be one of the new decor contributors over here at the MadeByGirl blog

What you will find about me, is that when it comes to interiors, I am a huge fan of mixing it up! No matching furniture sets, please! So, let's put this idea to work! And what better way to start than by styling a room around one of Jen's smaller paintings available through Cocoa and Hearts, right?

I have always loved the palettes Jen creates, not to mention her skills at creating a stylish vignette! Honestly, the hardest part was choosing a favorite! But after a bit of deliberating, I chose Colors 189, featuring a bright fuchsia, royal blue, sandy buff, creamy white, and golden yellow.

Now on to the decorating...

1 / Let's start with a little bling.

2 / Add some timeless comfort and a large dosage of color.

3 / Of course, every room needs an iconic modern splash.

4 / A comfy spot to get a little work done (or just to catch up on some online design blogs!).

Raymond Desk via Jayson Home
Claude Dining Chair via Jonathan Adler
Vintage Books Box Set via Anthropologie
5 / A little something to warm your feet.
Agadir Twists Rug via Anthropologie
6 / And last, but certainly not least, we all need a bit of vintage charm.

Wasn't that easy! Until next time everyone... Happy decorating!
