Have you EVER seen hand-knitted panels covering chairs? These are all by knitwear designer, Melanie Porter. The minute I saw these chairs I fell in love with them. I can see these chairs being a highlight in any home, standing on it's own like a piece of artwork.
oh my word!!! wowzaz... these chairs are amazing. I can not imagine how long they took to make. If you love knitted things check out Sandra Backlund http://www.sandrabacklund.com/previous-collection.php?page=38 Aaaamazing... Thanks for sharing Melanie Porter with us...
These are DIVINE Jen. I love each one...can I have one of each? lol
I wonder if they are affordable for moi? Or if they even deliver to the US?
I am absolutely in love with your blog and have had great pleasure reading and viewing your fine work and finds and a bit of your life. I look forward with anticipation of your future posts.
They're unusual and cool aren't they? Hygge Nook found something similar a couple of months ago but we both agreed that the only potential problem would be if the knitting stretched when used...do you think it's tacked?
Neat idea, but I don't imagine the knit will last as long as conventional tapestry. But I suppose that just requires you to make a new cover and reinvent the chair every so often. Very fun.
Sweaters for your chair, I love it. I would love to see a creamy cable knit on a brown finish.
ReplyDeleteI love that black chair. That one green leg makes it kinda funky.
