My Favorite Jewelry...(Via Made By Girl)

I have a FASCINATION with interesting jewelry. One in particular that I love is jewelry with a claw, a tooth or something similar. Below is a collection of some I may be wearing more of this new year.... unfortunately, I don't own any of these (YET) but will soon! I've always been drawn to this STYLE because of it's unique and raw looking quality.

I'm NOT really a DIAMONDS kind of gal, with the exception of my wedding ring, I don't wear a lot of shiny BLING. I pretty much only wear necklaces, bracelets & rings....no earrings. I think I only own 2 pairs, not sure why.... Anyway, this STYLE is super HOT right now!

What's your favorite style of jewelry? Do you like bold pieces, pearls, diamonds, unique pieces like these or simple silver & gold?

  1. I love gold so I'm drawn to the necklace by Yanessa B. For the most part my jewelry routine consists of my wedding ring, a pair of earrings and a necklace. I love gold studs and my name plate gold necklace ... swear it's not ghetto looking lol.

  2. I love the turquoise inlay in the 1st photo. I looked for one like that a few years back, but I'm pretty sure a celebrity had worn one, making the prices skyrocket at the time!

Pearls, for me. Definitely. But, I like to make my own (: They're more versatile than most people think. Various shapes, sizes, and dying makes the color choices endless ^_^

I also like vintage pieces found in antique stores, like this one:

    They're always so unique (:

Cheers from Portland, Oregon! Love your blog!

  4. Hi Jen,
I have the exact same turquoise horn but in silver. I bought it in Lisbon, Portugal, at an international artisan´s fair we have every year. It´s great for Summer. I really like the one from Armelle´s shop as well, a bit more classy.
I have been a big fan of your blog and decided to create my own blog (only 1 week old heheh). You can check it out at www.blogdaclauzinha.blogspot.com

  6. I adore the Prarie Oats necklace - definitely my Dave from the ones you posted! As far as my jewelry style I'm kind of all over the place, but I do love to mix metals and layer necklaces. It's not uncommon for me to wear an expensive piece paired with something I purchased from Forever 21...really it's all how you style it! Oh and I gasped when you said you don't wear earrings...I never leave home without them, lol!!!!

  8. I'm definitely a necklace girl. I do wear one ring everyday, but I hardly ever wear bracelets and I only occasionally wear earrings.

  9. Love the one by Yanessa B. I'm a fan of simple baubles and pendants. But if the occasion is right, I do love a bold statement piece

  18. SOUTH LOOP SOCIAL LIGHT:
Ha! Your collection is a bit similar to mine minus the earrings. So funny, I love name plate necklaces...but i never liked them when they were really HUGE back in the 80's. I preferred the name plate belt LOL.
I think Carrie Bradshaw made the name plate less ghetto after wearing it with so many glamorous looking outfits on SEX and the CITY.

  20. Love this shape! The Yanessa B. is classic with a bit of edge — love that! Kenneth Jay Lane makes gorgeous coral and turquoise versions that you can find on eBay. I'm obsessed! Love your taste and sending you a picture of my "I love you blogs and coffee" print hanging above my bureau soon!

  26. Love all of these, especially the first two! My jewelry interests change all the time. I always wear a ring my Mum gave me and two leather/satin bracelets. I used to layer lots of necklaces but not lately. And I'll sometimes wear heaps of rings or bracelets depending on my mood I suppose!

  27. Because I'm an Aries the Diamond is my birthstone, I'm a diamonds gal all the way! (unfortunately I only have one 'real' diamond and that's in my wedding ring but I do love the bling). I've always been drawn to delicate pieces but since I recently became a Stella & Dot Stylist I'm getting aquainted with, and loving, other styles of jewelry. :)

Interesting Jewelry Choices Jen! Love your taste.

  28. I love it all! Like you I don't really wear Diamonds, but I don't have anywhere that fancy where I need to be wearing any. Give me something unique and I'm more than happy.

  29. I love wearing horns too! In Italy, these horns are a sign of goodluck and way to ward off the "mal occhio" or evil eye. It is a superstition that my mother really believes. I have a simple gold one from when I was a baby.
