The ART of Doing Stuff.....Home Tour (Via Made By Girl)

I came across a blog called 'The Art Of Doing Stuff" and the author Karen, was nice enough to let me share some pics of her home with all of you. You see, Karen's home was also recently featured in Style at Home magazine (which I'm a BIG fan of) so I knew her place was quite special! My favorite decor items in her home are the gold ornate mirror, huge portrait in dining area & the cream and white hide rug. And you? What do you like best about her home?

I will only post a few pics here, so you'll have to go on over to Karen's blog to see & read about the rest of her home.

  17. Thanks all! It's me ... Karen ... the homeowner. The bookcases took months to get to the point where I was satisfied with them. So don't be envious. It was a struggle but I stuck to it. It's amazing what a little OCD can do for a bookcase!

  21. Thank u very much for the instructions. I did it but I did not use stiffy, I used walgreens 99 cents a bottle glue ( I am cost conscious and thrifty) and a swag light kit from Pottery barn kids for $12 and 1-50 cents punch ball. I dont have a light fixture in the room so it was easier to make it a swag lamp and install it. I am so happy that my daughter seen this. it is the perfect lamp project for my bedroom, and I am going to make some for outside but spray them with a water proof something or other so they can stay outdoors. I made it for under $20. You can put your glue in 2 plastic gallon zip to lock bags add yarn and kneed and squeeze the glue into the yarn. just be sure to paper clip the end so you can find it easily and handing the balloon with a string on the end on the shower curtain rod made it was so easy to wrap and clean up the mess. Next time I do it I will wipe the balloon with vaseline to keep the balloon from sticking to the yarn. It is hanging and it is beautiful! Next time I am going to make a bigger one for the living room in two colors to match the decor. Tnanks a million!!
