Traveling in Style...(Via Made By Girl)

I don't travel too often, by choice.  I just HATE planes....probably has to do with the fact that I'm not in control. Anyone else know that feeling?!?

Well, when I do fly, and I'll be doing so when I head to BlogFest 2011 this May in NYC, I like cute luggage!

WHY? Because I'm a girl & I like cute things. Below are some of my faves....and even though I haven't decided on any specific one yet, I'd love to know if you have a good source for luggage, carry-ons & so on.

Tell me, what's your source for pretty & practical luggage?

1. jane marvel zebra print via ebags
2. butterfly makeup travel bag via nordstroms
3. exotic leopard luggage via Overstock
4. London Fog via CNV Luggage
5. MK by Michael Kors (Can't find it anywhere though)
6. Diane Von Furstenberg via Luggage online
7. creamy python via ebags

  1. I too am heading to Blogfest 2011, it's going to be a great event!

My favourite carry-on luggage is my Longchamp expandable duffle. I have it in Bilberry (purple) and it is such a great piece. Not only does it expand but it also folds up and weighs next to nothing. I've used it for several trips and I love it! Happy Friday!

  2. I purchased the DVF luggage set @ Macy's a two summers ago. It's from the Betty Collection in Champagne and I love it! Everyone always asks about it at the baggage claim. I bought a Rockland Polo set for my husband in silver. Traveling in style is a always fun. :)

  3. Have you ever seen the movie The Wedding Date Starring Debra Messing??? There are quite a few scenes in that movie where she has this ADORABLE like light either baby blue or turquoise luggage and I have never been able to figure out who it's by!!!! But that would be my pick of what I would want to travel with...maybe you have seen it and know what I am talking about if not, I highly recommend the movie!!

  12. Love that butterfly bag! I usually stop at TJ Maxx when looking for luggage. They usually get some cute Betsey Johnson or similar bags that I go for.

  13. Ha, so funny! I just did a post today about traveling light and beating the 3 oz rule. Guess great minds think alike?! ;)

  14. I have DVF, she always has really pretty, stylish pieces of luggage. But what I do love is that old, vintagey looking luggage from the days when people traveled in style and dressed up to go to the movies. It's just that all the ones I've seen come with a really high price tag too!..lol

  15. I LOVE to travel, but dislike flying, I know it doesn't make much sense, but I look at flying as a means to end...I completely understand the idea of the loss of control, I know how to drive a car but can't fly a plane, so what would happen if they needed my help, haha :)

Wish I could go to bloggerfest, and having great luggage makes traveling there that much more exciting. I have seen some DVF luggage lately on sale at Macy's that looks like a steal. I usually stay with a non-descript suitcase to check in and a fun carry on!

  19. I really love some of Kathy van Zeeland's luggage on QVC - QVC is great resource for luggage (among many other things!) and I was in Target the other day and saw a really cool, lightweight polka dotted carry on! I loved it and almost bought it, but I have nowhere to go right now...so maybe in a few months...:)

  20. I got a great turquoise wheeled suitcase at TJMaxx for a great price. I also love REI for luggage and carry-ons that will hold a lot and hold up to anything. I have a wheeled duffle that I've deployed with on numerous occasions... I even used it as a makeshift dolly to wheel my flat screen into the house (handy for a gal that lives by herself)

  24. I love the zebra bag. :-D I like the other earth tone bags, but I don't like the python and snake prints, ...simply because I'm scared of reptiles and similar prints make me feel uncomfortable. Oh well, have fun at the Blogfest! :-D

  25. Love travelling and don't have a problem with planes, i'm just not a fan of spending more than 10hours on one though.

Great luggage picks, I love anything that expands and is lightweight, so you can sneak in more shopping!

  27. I think I'm commenting for the first time even though I've been a follower for a long time. It so happens that a friend of mine just bought a beautiful suitcase, black with colourful stripes, which I have been thinking about since she sent me a link to it. It's a Danish design called ADAX and I just had to share the link: http://www.cavalet.dk/product/adax-kabine-trolley-171/

    Have a wonderful weekend ;-)

  29. Oh i know how you feel about flying...i do a lot of traveling by choice and my fear of flying gets worse with every flight i take. Since i've traveled so much i've got it down to only a carry on....a simple but cute bright salmon pink wheel pulley (haha just blanked on what those are called).

In terms of travel luggage I love Anya hindmarch's makeup bags, the studded leather ones are so chic! and Designer guild have the cutest range of toiletry bags, as for suitcases I'm a samsonite gal. They're just so durable!

  34. Hi Jen I used to fly all over the world weekly with my old job and not think about it for a second. Then lately I'm so uneasy to fly, particularly without my son. I almost have to be sedated!! Trying to figure out a cure...

  35. I recommend Longchamp's luggage collections, you can combine different sized bags so easily.

Otherwise there's Samsonite Black Label by Victor & Rolf. http://vikinicky.blogspot.com/2009/03/viktor-rolf-for-samsonite-if-you-dont.html

  46. A girl after my own heart! I am terrified of flying, simply because I am not riding in the cockpit, overseeing all of the pilot's actions (of which I have no authority on). So...I will be using these inspiring suitcase options for my next road or train trip :)

  47. The MK one doesn't exist anymore, unfortunately. However signature is coming back for us in a big way and this style may return in the near future =) We dod have some great duffle bags and oversized bags though that could double as a carry on!
