Design: Tropical Glam

Hi MBG readers, its Amanda and I am back with two absolute summertime fave of mine: the iconic banana leaf print and the Massimo Vitali beach photograph. Not sure about you guys but there's no palm trees over here (in ohio) so I'm determined to bring the classic glam style of vacation destinations into our home.

And if you're not planning on any vacation soon, I've picked out a couple of pieces that will be sure to get you feeling the 'Palm Springs chic meets 1950s hollywood' vibe!

Design: Brass + Beige

Hi lovely MBG readers! Amanda here today, with a look into two of this year's home decor trends - brass and beige. As we know that emerald green has made its statement in home decor, the beige trend predicted by Elle Decor was a surprise as beige can be bland and boring. But it is in for the Spring and far from boring when paired with bolder hues (perfect with emerald!) and mixed with textures.

The resurgence of brass metal on the other hand is the hot finish for lighting fixtures, furniture and hardware. But it's not the brass we hated. Whether it's polished, antiqued, or hammered, brass is back more refined and with a different kind of finish.

Design: Refresh your home

Hi MadeByGirl readers, Amanda here with a few ideas to refresh your home without jumping too soon to Spring. With all our holiday decorations put away, it's amazing how empty a house can feel!

So as soon as mid-January hits, I like to freshen things up by adding in just a hint of color usually with a potted plant or a blush colored pillow and switching out the blacks for dark blues but the fur blankets and high pile rugs stay. Since it's still so cold out, I like to hang onto that winter cozy feeling.

Design: The Decorista

Hi MadebyGirl readers! Amanda here. With Christmas fast approaching, holiday shopping can get overwhelming. But no worries, I've curated a collection of home decor gifts since they are some of my favorite things to give and receive.

And especially for "the decorista" in your life - who loves sparkly metallics, obsessed with luxe candles, and would pick the latest coffee table books over shoes.

Design: Cozy Winter Decor

Hi everyone! It's Amanda here, and this Monday I'm sharing a few favorite winter accents. As we transition to much colder weather, I'm hazarding a guess that many of you have pulled out the fur throws & pillows. Right? As for me, I already have my shag rug and fur throws out.

Although it isn't official Winter yet, but my decor mood is already shifting to dark greys, winter whites, with metallic finishes. To prepare for the coziest time of the year and still keeping it stylish, I've been adding accents with textures, like leather and wood. If I could, I would replace my side tables with tree stumps and some gold mercury glasses.

Decor: Soft Glamour

Hi everyone! It's Amanda. I was so inspired by Jen's NYC closet awhile back I thought I'd style a room with a soft glamour feel. I'm sure I speak for most when I say, I wish I had a huge walk-in closet!

Lucky for those that do! But if you have that extra space.. what better way to add all your favorite pinks, blush and peach tones in a single dream room! (especially when you don't live alone) It's like the perfect girl cave - only extra chic.

Design: Black & Silver

Hi everyone, it's Amanda with some black & silver inspiration. Since fall is almost here, it's time to embrace the black with metallics again. Although I mostly prefer gold over silver, I still love a good silver accent around the home - be it light fixtures, table and chair legs, small tabletop accessories, or simple frames.

As we all know, anything black in your home creates an instant classy, edgy feel. But with a few touches of silver, you can notch up a monochromatic room to achieve that sophisticated style.

Design: Industrial Glam Decor

Hello Made By Girl readers! This is Amanda from Lust luxe love, excited to be with you today sharing one of my favorite design look -- industrial glam with an edge!

I'm often drawn to homes with a mix of old and new - whether they're the combination of exposed brick and dark wood with modern light fixtures, or a rustic vintage find in a contemporary room. Although sometimes this masculine industriousness can be a bit of a design turn-off, when styled with the right accessories, you can turn the farmhouse look into a cozy, chic space!
