I was looking online for inspiration (as we all do) & managed to come across some great pics on the House to Home site. In fact...... the DESIRE for inspiration comes from the fact that I haven't really done any DIY projects around my home LATELY.
Sometimes we get so caught up in other things like work & our home decor becomes stagnant! Know what I mean?!?
I think my home just needs a little something new....and even though I adore pink on other people's walls... I'll just keep pink as ART in my home. Oh yea...& on my NAILS!! I think more closet shelving or a console is in my near future.....
Where do you go for inspiration when looking to decorate your home?!?!?
The LOVE lighting is such a stand out piece, I'd love to own something like this...not sure where I'd put it, but WOW.
This wall mural has some of my favorite colors and I can't get over how large it is...!
The dark walls and white mantle..... I always thought this was a great contrast. Wishing I had a fireplace right about now...
The 2 stories & the modern feel is the reason this space is so inviting to me. How can you not love that GLASS stair rail??
I'm all about velvet sofas- in fact it was one of my top choices when I moved into my place. However, it was a pain in the neck to find one in my area....ARGH!
Just like in the photo below, I also prefer to bring pink into my space through artwork.
words etched sideways on a vintage looking mirror....so cool.
I think pink sofas a re a bit extreme for me and probably most people I know, but it works in this home, don't you think??

It's the unexpected juxtaposing of items, that get my creative genius revved up.
Cheers!
I normally scour online mags or blogs for inspiration. Love these images, they are full of great ideas and inspirations.

I'm loving ALL of this inspiration you've shared!! I get inspiration from magazines, blogs and window shopping. Sometimes I'll even get it from my design work. Combining colors and shapes in Illustrator inspires me to use it in a real space!

I go to elle decor and jonathan adler's shop to make my brain work decor-wise.. of course.. blogs but that's like regular dosis of inspiration..
ReplyDeleteI actually look a lot to your blog!! Because, you have a cool style, and you put a lot of pictures from other blogs and magazines out here too. In Norway I find it all to be white and shabby chic, but not all of us like that. I don't care so much for the bare Scandinavian simple style either, not all of it, but some of it. What I love about your style and a lot of US blogs are the chic, glossy style with these luxurious tiny bowls that you put rings and jewlerry in. I love that! I guess kinda Hollywood glamour??? That I love. But I find it so hard to find similar items here in Norway. So next time I go to the USA I guess you'll know what I will be looking for ;)
ReplyDeleteSo thank you :)
that's so strange, just posted about pink and grey because of that house and home pic then popped over and saw this.. with the same pic :) Must be on the same wavelength. I am so craving a bit pink right now...
ReplyDeleteEverything you picked out is diving, you got me drooling over that Love light so COOL.

YUM!
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like a gallery or an art show to get me going. My "displays" may stay the same for years, but if I happen to find a painting or a sculpture (large or small), I immediately become creative. I guess you could say I'm inspired by the creativity of others.
ReplyDeleteLovely indeed! I really enjoy flipping thru the pages of Country Living. But I also look on other blogs for vintage inspiration/color ideas too.
ReplyDeleteLove the various room looks, so much inspiration. I'm in the middle of choosing pops of color for the apt. I'm thinking the lavender purple looks quite nice. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on pink. Can't do too too much of it, but just a dash makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that mural divine? They recreated a famous mural, but reimagined it in pastels. So cool.
I am definitely going to start using this site!! I always look for decor inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteI flip through "House Beautiful" for inspiration, but then try to put my own spin on those inspirations to be different. Yes, when I'm most busy, my home looks ignored. Lately my new thing is each week when I clean just scramble up my various home accessories and rearrange differently either by color, shape, function... and create a theme of the week mantle using stuff I already had but that might be hidden in the guest bedroom for example. This week's theme was whites, creams, with a pop of pastels taken from a little painting that I bought in Florence :)
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of the color pink, but once you live with a man... there is a fine line! I adore the first photo, the rooms incorporate pink without getting too girly...
ReplyDeleteHugs & kisses from Rio!

Well I may be one of the later-finders in this, but just started using Pinterest which is fun to Pin things I love for later to go and finish (for my house). Love also getting inspiration from other bloggers (ie: made by girl) and many more sites! (Thanks for the daily inspiration!)
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I am overwhelmed by that site, so much fun stuff, so thanks for pulling out a few great images!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I totally had those curtains from the first pic in my room in high school--from Urban Outfitters. I still have them somewhere...
Usually West Elm or Dwell Studio's catalog. WHERE is that area rug from picture 5 (white living room) from?? Lovesit!
ReplyDeleteI go straight to Design Sponge and spend many a happy hour (or five) trawling through the gorgeous sneak peaks. Bliss!
ReplyDeleteJust pinned an etched mirror similar to this one and would LOVE to do a DIY like this one...maybe in a different language or something with a personal touch :) I love looking at Design*Sponge for inspiration because I LOVE seeing before/afters...although I'm not sure I could do half of their projects. Still, it's so cool to see the transformations :)
