Wooden Watches from Jord

Lately I haven’t worn a lot of jewelry so anytime I do, I want it to be unique, so when I saw these wood watches from Jord, it was something I needed to try.

So, Jord sent over my 1st choice, the Cora wood with a rose gold face, which is different than what I’d usually wear. Koa is a rich, toned wood from Hawaii and it’s particularly good with my skin tone. I thought at first that the band might feel bulky but it’s surprisingly light and actually feels really good on my skin.

The rose gold face, which isn’t a color tone I’d normally choose, fits really well with the Cora. The Swarovski crystal give it a little extra luxurious edge.

The fun part of trying out something that I normally wouldn’t wear is figuring out what outfits I can wear it with. I found that this watch works really well when you just want something off-the-wall and unexpected. While everyone is sporting either basic silver or gold, or one of the new smartwatches, I can show off my own style with this fashionable watch.

How genius is this packaging? ...comes in an all wooden box too!

FASHION: SPRING TREND

Hello lovelies! Sami from The Unexpected Type here to chat about 2015 Spring trends. With the official first day of the season behind us, it’s time to start transitioning your wardrobe! I’ve taken this Spring’s top three runway trends and given you a complete, wearable look to effortlessly transition your style towards warmer weather and fresh color palettes.

The Shirtdress // Seen in collections by Altuzarra, Charlotte Ronson, and Rebecca Minkoff
The classic silhouette gets a revamp with punchy patterns, clean design, and fun accents, like an unexpected high slit. Pair the silhouette great with a patterned bag and lace-up sandals.

Black & White // Seen in collections by Thakoon, Public School, DKNY

This year black and white gets an extreme update with innovative textures and unexpected shapes. The best part about this trend? You can transition seamlessly by stretching the life into some of your Winter blacks. A patterned piece works great with one of the season's hottest shoes, the mule, and a fun, sporty bag.

The Kimono Coat // Seen in collections by Tracy Reese, Tibi, Thakoon Winter’s cocoon trench coats are replaced with free flowing, feminine “kimono” inspired wraps and coats. Slouchy, light weight, and comfortable—what’s not to like? Pair the coat with an ultra-feminine pair of heels, like these d'orsay pumps, and a neutral bag.

Schutz Shoes

How are you guys? Aren't you glad it's Friday?

One of my favorite shoe stores is Schutz - I'm always fascinated that they have so many interesting & unique styles. That's what I love about them. This Summer with the adoption taking way, I've put a major hold on shopping (sadly), but for those of you who CAN shop, Schutz is  must-see shop for shoe lovers! If i could go crazy spending I'd get 1 of each below....but then again with NYC closet space, this would be tough. Oh well...I can dream..

My e LUXE wishlist

We'll be going on a long-awaited honeymoon (vacation) next month - you see, we never took a real honeymoon after our wedding, so the time has finally arrived!   It's an all-expense paid trip, which makes it even better.  However, like most women, before I go on vacation, I like to plan what I'll be wearing.  Even though I'm still not done with all my wardrobe planning, I compiled some cute stuff from eLUXE.  It's just a wishlist at this time, but I thought it would also give you some inspiration if you're planning on a vacation this Summer.

If you haven't visited eLUXE - check them out. They're an online designer boutique, with an interesting twist. They also team up with popular bloggers & influencers to participate & help design items for their shop.  Have a great weekend!!

FASHION: French Chic

Hi everyone! Sandra from Blasfemmes here. It's that time of year when I'm both tempted by sales and at the same time I'm also curious about the Spring/14 collections coming out, can you relate?

So, while some of us are still debating between hunting good investment pieces from sales and coveting next Season's novelties why not go back to the classics? Today it's all about Parisian style, an old favorite of mine. Are you also fans of French chic?

FASHION: Holiday Shoes & Bags

Hi everyone! Adri here of Adri's World. Can you believe it's already December? And with it come all the holiday parties! Are you ready? I feel that this year has flown by!!

I love shoes and bags! Who doesn't, right? Here are a few options to add to your party outfits. Be it an elegant cocktail you might attending, or a casual get-together, I believe that shoes and a great bag can "make an outfit". Whether you like to wear heels or flats add a bit of unexpected style with a bag that is not necessarily its exact match.

With any of these shoes and bags you are sure to arrive in style, even if you just decided to wear a simple little black dress—or even jeans!

Are you dressing up this holiday season? What are your favorites?

Hi everyone! Adri here of Adri's World. Today I'm sharing a bit of "Fall Fashion Love"! As much as I love summer, when it comes to fashion, fall is definitely my favorite season to shop for. Coats, boots, scarves...so much fun! Don't you think?

This fall season we have so much to choose from and I'm loving all the trends! From prints and leather, to textures and colors. Here are a few items I'm in love with for a day out for brunch or a night out to dinner. The night look with a little black dress would look amazing and the day look would be perfect with denim and a neutral top. Spray on some fragrance and you are ready for a day or night of fun!

What about you? Are you ready for all the fall fashion?

Helmut Lang

Helmut Lang clothing is HOT!

Every time I see something by Helmut Lang - I know it's HL. The details are always identifiable
with touches of leather in mostly black or white, always looking so stylish & chic.  It's like the type of clothing all the cool people are wearing ha!  I can't seem to get enough of this look - So much so, I tried on the dress with the BIG leather pockets recently, but unfortunately it was the last one left & it had a defect!!  Argh....just my luck.

Are you into Helmut Lang? Yes or no?

FASHION: Blues

Hi everyone! This is Adri of Adri's World. I'm very happy to be here with my first contributing post to MADE BY GIRL. Let's get started, shall we?

Although we are still in deep summer weather, I wanted to introduce you to a color that made almost all the runway shows for this upcoming Fall season—from Valentino and Gucci to Chanel and Prada. Blue, in all it's shades and beauty!
Blue_inspiration_01

I've begun to see blue in boutiques here in NYC and I'm loving that it's made it's way back! Blue is one of those colors that looks great paired with any hue. Wear it with denim in different shades or make a bold statement with black and white.

Those Dolce & Gabbana striped sunglasses, a cobalt blue silk top from Madewell paired with denim and that Rebecca Minkoff bag and you are ready for a day of fun! How about adding a touch of color to any outfit with those Zara sandals and that amazing House of Harlow necklace or maybe just a pop of color with an Electric Blue Dior manicure!

I think I'm ready to add more blue to my wardrobe! How about you, is blue a color for you?

Fashion: Festival Fashion

Hi lovelies! Its Carlinn here from Superficialgirls and I am getting ready for the festival season! Get out your cut-offs and maxi dresses, your boots and flower crowns and be ready for some seriously chic music festival style. Its your chance to be quirky and let your personal style show so be creative!

I love the mix of floaty feminine dresses paired with utility jackets and boots and if you always wanted to wear tie dye, now is your chance. Online you will find loads of stores with dedicated festival wear sections so you don't have an excuse not to go wild.

Here are some festival outfit essentials:

1. Funky sunglasses like these round ones from Asos
2. Denim shorts are always a go to when the weather is hot, we love ones with a bit of color from J Brand
3. Pile your arms with bracelets and let them jingle while you dance for a festival feel
4. Floral headbands make a statement and people might even mistake you for Lana del Rey
5. Flat booties are essential for dancing in the dirt!

Anine Bing is in the House

I can't tell you how many times I've searched for the perfect pair of leather pants.  Ones that would make me feel like Joan Jett & a bit of a BAD-ASS on days I feel like crap. I came across my all-time favorite pair from Balmain (which Kate Moss always wears) and I got soo excited! The excitement didn't last long when I saw the price tag, gulp. Hopes were dashed. Then, a few weeks ago.... I found a pair that looked quite similar, by Anine Bing. Let's just say I fell in love.

So.... I saved up & was able to get the Anine Bing leather pants. The price is still a bit steep, but good quality leather pants don't come cheap. I mean even the zippers are big & sturdy, love them. Call me CRAZY, but leather pants are a must in any wardrobe.

Do you own a pair of leather pants? Do you wear them casually or just on dress-up days?
