FASHION: Mid-Summer Pick me ups

Hi everyone - it's Kat from With Love From Kat. I've loved being a contributor for Jen these past 6 months and am excited to see what the next contributors bring to her blog!  My last post for MBG is called "Mid summer pick me ups."  We're halfway through summer, and if you're feeling like me, than you're tired of your summer wardrobe.  I love these fun pieces that can easily "zhush" up any outfit without breaking the bank - most of these items are under $100!  Thanks for reading my posts and don't forget to keep up with me here, here, and here!

Fashion: Travel Essentials

Hi everyone!  Kat from With Love From Kat here. I've been traveling a lot this summer and each time, I'm more prepared & my trips are less stressful!  It's so important to be comfortable whether you're on a plane, train, boat, or in a car.  I live in Alexander Wang T-shirts, Theodora & Callum scarves, and Yosi Samra roll-up flats.  I recently invested in a fun weekend bag - before I had an L.L. Bean tote, which is great and gets the job done, but it's always nice to switch it up!

At the airport, I like to KEEP my wallet at the bottom of my bag, and have a small pouch for my credit card, ID, and loose change - how cute is this Tory striped one?  I like to wear a watch so I don't have to constantly check my phone - and drain the battery in the process, and keep headphones in while I'm waiting.

A spritz of Evian spray always makes me feel instantly refreshed at the beginning and end of my trip - I highly recommend getting a bottle.

What are some of your travel essentials?

Fashion: Summer Hats

Hi everyone, Kat from With Love From Kat here.  Summer in New York has gotten off to a steamy start and hats have been my lifesaver.  No matter what I seem to do with my hair - flat iron it, curl it, or let it air dry - it ends up looking like a mess!  I've been alternating between wearing my J.Crew Panama hat and Rag & Bone floppy hat.

Both have been able to hide my crazy hair situation and enhance my outfit.  I have my eye on that Collection XIIX hat for the beach and Nordstrom B.P. hat for another everyday option - it's only $18!

 Which hat is your favorite?

Fashion: Jumpsuits

Hi everyone!  It's Kat from With Love From Kat. Today's post is all about jumpsuits.  I recently purchased this jumpsuit from Theory and have already worn it to lunches, cocktails and meetings. It's so comfortable, yet flattering, and can easily be dressed up with a pair of heels or dressed down with a scarf and flats.

Jumpsuits look best with a tie or belt around the waist.  If it doesn't come with a tie or belt, add this obi belt from Lafayette 148 or this thin leather belt from B-Low The Belt.  I try to stay away from wide leg + strapless jumpsuits and lean towards sleeveless/short sleeved versions like below.

Fashion: Staple Pieces

Hi guys!  Kat from With Love From Kat here.  The weather has been so gorgeous in NYC lately, all I've wanted to do is be outside.  I've been wearing this low maintenance look for meetings, lunch dates, and weekend outings.  It's so nice to have a handful of staple pieces that help you get dressed fast and still look put together.

My #1 staple piece is an Equipment blouse.  You can get a silk blouse just about anywhere, but Equipment blouses are more tailored and flattering than others.  Have you seen the rainbow of colors they come in?  The turquoise one is on my wish list!

Fashion: Stripes

Hi guys - Kat here!  I found this street style picture on tumblr and it inspired me to write today's post. I love how classic and cool this girl looks.  Stripes are timeless and can be worn so many different ways. You can wear a striped top with a basic pair of jeans or with a bold pair of floral pants.

If you don't love striped clothing you can wear striped accessories like the ones below.  I need to get my hands on those striped espadrilles - they're only $36 and perfect to run around the city in!

Fashion: Black + White Trend

Hi everyone!  It's Kat from With Love From Kat.  I hope you're all enjoying my fashion posts!  This week I wanted to get back to basics and talk about wearing black and white.  This color combo is classic, flattering, and chic.

If you're ever stumped on what to wear - resort to a simple black and white ensemble.  I love how style icon Poppy Delevigne added a bright pink clutch to her outfit - such a fun pop of color.  Get their look and update your wardrobe with these versatile pieces.

Fashion: Emerald Green

Hi everyone!  Kat here from With Love From, Kat. Today's post is all about the Pantone color of the year; Emerald.  Emerald is a color of love, beauty, and prosperity.

I adore this color because it looks good against every skin tone and every hair color.  I don't own nearly enough emerald so after I finished this post I ordered #3 and #7!  I'm excited to start wearing these pieces because they are season-less and can be dressed up or dressed down.

 Which pieces are your favorite?

7.  Gerard Yosca necklace
