Kate Long Stevenson, creating some Amazing ART....

Kate Long Stevenson is an abstract painter from South Carolina that I love. She does mostly abstract work, which is my favorite.  I love how so many of her subjects blend in with the colors!  I can envision Kate's paintings in an entryway/foyer or even in a dining room setting....plain white walls and her colorful piece accentuating the space! Please check out more of this talented artist here.

Stella's beautiful Art

Stella Im Hultberg is one of my favorite new artists. She is a painter and drawer living in New York City. Despite her background in industrial design and toy design, she has recently turned to a more personal and expressive kind of creating, showing her works at galleries since fall of 2005. She captures sultry with style in her sketches, these would make really cool art for a home.

How important is ART??

Obviously very much to the people that designed the Augarten hotel. As for me, I love art and this hotel has some great art pieces. Located in Graz, Austria this hotel is a landmark. It contains art from 30 different artists and they're displayed throughout the hotel. As you can see in these photos. Nice bright colors that lift your mood, exactly what you need when you're on vacation!

EDGY

Zilon is a painter and a musician. He has been Montreal's angry Punk street artist for more than 25 years. His work is quite interesting and I wanted to share some of my favorites here. I discovered his art when I visted Desire to Inspire Blog and noticed Kim's new bathroom decor. There on the wall was the Dior Addict piece by Zilon. You can see much more of his work on his site Zilon Sonic. Very Rock n' Roll and i LOVE rock n roll!

Art making a difference

I meant to post this picture for quite awhile now, somehow it got lost in my many folders. However, here it is for all of you to see. This stylish livingroom design by the awesome Kelly Wearstler, was featured on the front cover of 'Western Interiors and Design Magazine' in the Oct 2006 issue. (Also one of my favorites) I absolutely adore the painting on the wall behind the chesterfield sofa....which is on my list of 'next sofas to buy'. I think art is essential and makes such a difference. This painting happens to be very simple (Green & Charcoal) , yet makes quite a statement. I enjoy that aspect. HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!!
