Anthropologie has got the gold

I love visiting Anthropologie here on the Upper East side in NYC  - they always have a great selection of unique items. Even though I'm not too fond of their home section, I did see some items that I really think would suit my taste. They've added some a nice selection of home decor with gold accents, & you know how I feel about gold right??  LOVE it.  So, here are my top favorite pieces from Anthro.

Hi there!  There are so many ways to style a coffee table using various accessories and decorative items from candles to sculptures to create a perfect combo! What I love are the super stylish coffee table trays, that can compete with the pretties accessories and complete or set the look.  Here are my favorite top 10 trays that I would love to use in my living room!!

Trend: Tassel Necklaces

Hey everyone! So I have to make a little confession... I recently found myself in a daze and completely mesmerized by a necklace wrapped around the neck of Rachel Zoe. I'm TOTALLY obsessed!  She was wearing (as shown below) a tassel necklace that seems to be trending now.  I love the tassel key chains I sell at my MADE BY GIRL shop, but who would've thought they looked so chic on our necks.  I did some major browsing around & and collected these pieces... also, check out the one I bought.

My Jewels Wishlist

I'm a ring, bracelet & necklace kinda gal. 

 For whatever reason I'm not that into earrings. My husband always found that to be odd, since so many women wear earrings. Anyone else earring-less like me?? 

 So, because I don't DO earrings I end up filling my jewelry drawer with necklaces, rings & bracelets. Lately my wishlist includes any of these below. Dying to get this Gold Shark necklace from ShopKei and of course the Acorn ring by Julie Vos.

Summer Wishlist

I swear, this SUMMER I feel like shopping for a whole new wardrobe...or at least a partial wardrobe. Fat chance that I'll go nuts spending $$$ on a shopping spree, it's just not like me. 

 So, instead I decided to round up a few key pieces and will just choose 3-4 to sport around this summer! A new bathing suit is def a must right?? But then again, so is that Gucci fedora, to die for don't you think!?!

Parker & Rain Trays

Friday is here & I'm so glad and hope to relax a bit, but first I'd like to tell you about a little shop I came across called, Parker & Rain. They offer a variety of interesting & colorful trays for the home. Trays are great for organizing...don't you think??

Tips for using trays effectively would be:

Place them in entryways - there you can place the small items you bring in from outside, such as keys, sunglasses and so on. 

Use trays for perfumes -  This is a fantastic way to keep all my perfumes in one spot. It gives me a full display so I could see what I want to spray on.

Add your jewelry items in them- this is also something I'd recommend if you don't have a ton of jewelry and can easily be displayed. The key is to place each piece of jewelry in a way that each piece can be seen. Sort of like in a jewelry store. Get the picture?



I have a total of 3 trays in my current place, and each one has a different use, but definitely helps keep things organized & in place. These ones are fun & would surely add interest to any area of your home!

Of A Kind

A reader pointed me to a site called, Of a Kind.

It's a clever site, where they feature select designers one at a time. They share a series of stories about each designer—inspirations, personal life, taste, training - along with a limited-edition piece designed exclusively for Of a Kind.  Neat huh? Below I selected some of my favorites from their site - I just love this concept! Now if only I could get my hands on that camera strap, super cool.

Deux Lux = P-r-e-t-t-y

Wow, yesterday was tough.


I hadn't felt that sick & exhausted in awhile. In fact, I didn't sleep much this past week & things just finally caught up. Ever feel like that? But, thank God, I'm feeling a bit better. So today I wanted to introduce you all to this AMAZING shop called Deux Lux. They have the cutest messenger bags - so glam & edgy. 

You can carry any of these styles while you're wearing jeans & a t-shirt, they're that versatile! You may have already seen these cute bags, in fact the company was launched in 2005 by two ladies by the name of, Fati Mahdavi (aka "Mama") and Sara Naghedi. They've been featured on several blogs already as well as tv & so on! 
 



My favorite bag has got to be the 'studded' clutch. Oh my gosh....I've been WANTING this clutch for quite sometime now - so, I'll just add it to my wishlist - again! Take a peek at the rest of their stash here, you will love it.

This Mother's Day....

I'm not a mom, but I have one & I love her. She's the most amazing person. She's kind, generous, considerate, brave, motivated, eats healthy, is full of life, loves me, gives to others she doesn't even know, & she loves God.
 
Actually, the list could go on & on. My mother deserves more than what I could ever give her. She's a HIP mom, always in trend & keeping up with the latest fashions. I love how she notices little things, like when I would stack my bracelets & so she did the same. She's also into COLORFUL denim, who knew?!? I love that about her!!!!!!!
 
So, this Mother's day I've decided to give her a check so she could go shopping. The past few Mother's days I bought her gifts, but this time I wanted her to get herself something. I admit, I don't always hit a home run when it comes to buying gifts, in fact I'm just NOT good at it. Are you???

I've selected a few goodies from some of my favorite online shops (there are many) & thought my mom would enjoy these! Of course, she could go elsewhere, but I saw these & thought of her.

Arianna Belle: The Shop

Hey everyone! Aren't you glad it's Friday?? I am...even though I'll still have work to do. I'll be shooting some new Cocoa & Hearts paintings! So keep a look out! On another note...


Aren't throw cushions awesome? 

It's too bad I only have one sofa. If not, a few of these babies would be on them. I'm really liking the selection over at Arianna's shop. For those of you who aren't familiar with her, she's an Interior Designer who also blogs at Arianna Belle Organized Interiors. 

Funny thing is, I already have the #3 cushions in black & white, but I really think #1 would look awesome in my place too! Check out the rest of her cushion collection here.

Elements of Style Shop in Australia!

Today, I'd love to introduce you all to Gabrielle Di Stefano who runs an online boutique by the name of Elements Of Style out of Australia! She sources lots of hard to find objects & makes them available to customers via her shop, which I'm already in love with! Most of the items in the shop are home accessories to create interest in anyone's place!


My favorite piece is the designer brass bowl, I could totally see this on my little dining table! Its now on my wishlist! Enjoy!

Calypso Home in NYC....

Hi again!  It's been so busy around here. Sometimes, I stop & wonder how I manage to do all the things I do.  Many days, I'm EXHAUSTED...& on top of work, I've been dealing with a lot of personal things lately, some good, some bad...I wish I could tell you EVERYTHING that's going on right now, but it would take an entire post & I'm not even sure I'm ready. Praying that God will guide us in the right direction is all we can do. Either way, the show must go on & work is what we do, right? So, here I go, doing what I LOVE to do, write. 
 
Today, I wanted to introduce you to a wonderful shop here in Manhattan called Calypso Home. 


I'm sure many of you New Yorkers already know this cool little place, but for those who don't.... it's one of my favorite stores along with Lillian August, so if you're headed to NYC - you must stop at both! Take a look at all the goodies they have for the home!

Scarves for Spring...

I've been spying a ton of beautiful & colorful scarves online and on the streets! Totally in trend? Sure, why not? These are perfect for spring! They're light and airy....! 

What do you wear these with?? I totally feel any of these would look fantastic with a white t-shirt & a pair of old blue jeans...oh yes, & let's top it off with some high heel booties!
