About Me

I'm Jen, a graphic designer who owns and runs an online shop called MadeByGirl, and the author of Made By Girl blog. I recently launched a new shop called Cocoa & Hearts where I sell my original paintings, which I'm very fond of as well! all  I love my job, it allows me to be extremely creative while providing me with a sense of freedom and accomplishment I've never felt before.  I'm also a practicing Christian - who loves Jesus. I am extremely open about my faith, so feel free to learn a bit more about my past & testimony here. My Business I have always wanted to run my own business and so in 2007, I launched MadeByGirl.  We create paper goods and typographical posters and sell them to customers all over the world from California to Australia to France.  Aside from the online shop, I also sell through Etsy and more than 30 stores across the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom.  MadeByGirl has appeared in several publications such as Inside Out, Marie Claire, Pregnancy, Lucky, Real Living Australia and more. My work has also been written about and featured on dozens of design blogs throughout the country. MadeByGirl also hopes to inspire earth friendly and ecologically conscious choices - most of our cards and prints are made using recycled and PCW paper with water based inks.  We hope that our choices will inspire our customers to make the same decisions to embrace recycling and reuse to help nurture our planet. My Office My paintings available via my shop Cocoa & Hearts My Blog Launched November of 2006, I blog about interior design, art, food, fashion and pieces of my own life.  My blog is updated 5 to 6 times a week.  I am inspired by many things - creativity, typography, clean design, color and emotion - and I like to share them with my readers.  My favorite posts are ones featuring homes owned by designers, readers and other bloggers.  One thing most of my readers have commented that they like about the MadeByGirl blog is the number of photos that I post.  I think it's important to showcase for readers the same visual inspiration that I get when I see things. Things I Love NYC, reading magazines, design books, learning new things, notes from my husband, painting, Jesus, family, cupcakes, my church, blogging, handbags, wood floors, photography, home magazines, cafes, the idea of living in Paris, my iPhone, cappuccino, decorating my home, and my \ boxer.
