Courtney Love's NYC Townhouse...

Have you seen Courtney Love's NYC West Village townhouse on the Jane site?

I thought it was interesting but not my style at all. It is an insanely romantic feel to it & it's obvious she loves antique pieces. I thought the blue paint on the staircase walls was very PRETTY & calming...It's quite apparent there are no male influences in her home, it's VERY girly.

However, I found the whole vibe of the home to be a sad one... perhaps it's because I'm just not into the romantic-bohemian style..

What do you think?? you can see more of her home via Jane

Front Doors on The Upper East Side...

Hello everyone! I'll be posting a few more NYC pics and maybe even some of the BlogFest event this week, so stay tuned!

As many of you know, a FRONT DOOR can really make a statement. I mean just walking through my old neighborhood on East 64th street was front door HEAVEN!

Soooo, I decided to shoot some of my favorites, so you could understand what I mean. If you haven't seen the doors on some of these brownstone/town homes on the upper east side- you must visit! What a treat!

It definitely got me thinking about my own FRONT door & how I could spice things up!  The crappy part is that we have an HOA- so we can't even paint the darn thing any color! Don't you just love HOA's??!!?

Current color is dark brown -YUCK... I know. However, I have hope that one day I'll be able to add a nice kick plate & a fancy door knocker! Enjoy!

This one below was always one of my favorites. It's super modern!  I would find myself staring at it every time I walked by....wondering WHO LIVES THERE?!?
Ahhh...... till we meet again upper east side.

Tanya's Townhouse Tour...(Via Made By Girl)

Hello everyone! How was the weekend for you? Mine was super nice (well, for the most part). The best part was having my mom here all last week & a bit during the weekend as well.  Oh yes, & she loved the guest bedroom! I miss her so much already. Sometimes I walk into the guestroom & look over at the empty bed wishing she was still here.  But, thank God, I'll be visiting NYC & get to see her again in May!

This Monday I'm back with a home tour....submitted to me by Tanya.  Both her & her husband live in a townhouse in Ontario, Canada.  She also writes a blog called, Dans Le Towhouse where she showcases all the DIY projects that her & her husband have taken on since buying their first home!  She says they still have LOTS to do, but their goal is to make the house a HOME.

I know exactly what it's like...when we bought our first place, we were determined to make it a home and we did 95% of the renovations ourselves. Needless to say, I am done with large renovations. It was a great experience and did save us LOTS OF CASH, but the time it took is the worst part!!

You really have to COMMIT to getting it all done in a reasonable amount of time, or your place will just be in shambles for months! Trust me...I knew people who started a renovation project & NEVER finished it!  Anyway, on her blog Tanya gives us a glimpse of what it's like outside of the glossy world of magazines!

Thanks Tanya!

OMG Where is this place?

I found these LOVELY photos of this amazing place and I saved it to my hard drive. However, I obviously forgot to attach a note as to where I found them. I believe this place is in London (not sure) so if anyone knows please leave a comment with the credit info. Now, back to this amazing interior.....I REALLY like the PINK background in the kitchen and the openness of the living area just draws me in! Don't you just love those gigantic mirrors??
Anyhow, this place reminds me of townhouse in New York City I visited once, I almost started drooling when I walked in....luckily I didn't or the owner would have wondered....LOL Enjoy!
UPDATE: I finally got the answer, this beautiful place is in Melbourne, Australia. Thanks to the lovely Bijou Kaleidoscope blog.
