design: boho glam

Hello MBG readers! It's Lisa from Gem Daily this Monday with a look at a fun fresh space I recently stumbled upon on Domaine by the Swedish designer Isabelle Dahlin!  I am such a sucker for bohemian vibes and spaces that feel very imperfect and lived-in and this space is the epitome of boho, effortless glam from top to bottom. The key is really picking textiles that blend well together, textures that create interest and finishes that aren't too fussy.

Check out some of my picks that can help you get the look!

I'm Diggin' Jonathan Adler

The newest Jonathan Adler catalog came in the mail today & it ROCKS. He's got all these cool brass home decor items & my favorite (by far) is this Etagere from the Jacques Collection. Unreal. If I had the BIG bucks, I'd probably buy it now...

Anyway, truth be told, GOLD is still VERY MUCH in.

So, have you seen the Spring 2013 catalog yet? Which is your favorite Jonathan Adler item?

Melanie's NY Home Tour...(Via Made By Girl)

Hello everyone, how are you? I'm finally in NYC and in one piece. Thank God! I have to say the minute I landed the weather turned into humid & rainy MESS. Actually, I knew it would, I had peeked at the forecast a few days ago. Awful huh? This means BAD HAIR day.....oh well, at least the hotel made up for it.

I'm staying at the Royalton & they were nice enough to give me a room with a large balcony that faces the street on the 14th floor! It's sooo cute! I promise I'll post pictures sometime tomorrow or Wednesday!

In the meanwhile, check out another cute place, this NYC pad belongs to Melanie from Luxury Monograms. You must have seen her monogrammed home decor, it's been featured on several blogs already - my favorite is the leopard print place mats!

She also blogs on the Iconic Blog, which is a really neat blog mostly about fashion & Interior Design.

When I asked Melanie what she liked best about her place she responded:

What I love most about my home is the location. I have wanted to live in NYC for years, so to finally have a place here is such a dream. I had so much fun decorating the place and trying to utilize every last square inch.

I love to entertain, so an open kitchen is a must. We have since thrown many parties here and love the flow of the living/dining space.

Alexandra's Home Tour...(Via Made By Girl)

We are all CURIOUS by nature & love looking into other people's homes ...not sure why, but most of us love to get a glimpse! When I walk around my neighborhood..... I admit to looking if there's a window & NO curtains....! It's not NECESSARILY peeping because I'm NOT standing there, I just walk past & am curious how that homeowner has decorated his/her place. Know what I mean??

Well, for now, you don't need to be standing in front of anyone's window because Alexandra of Things That Sparkle blog was nice enough to share some of her home with us!  My favorite part is her desk area, with the entire back wall made as an inspiration board, neat huh?

Oh & how cool is the bathroom wallpaper? Not many of us would dare do that, so I admire her boldness! Looks great! Thank you Alexandra for sharing this tour with us! Oh & thank God, it's FRIDAY....
