Textile Designer: Vanessa Adao

A blogger friend of mine and graphic designer, Vanessa Adao is now devoting herself to textile design! Vanessa is originally from Brazil & now lives in Los Angeles where she is currently devoting herself to blogging & textile design!

Her textiles are a mixture of FUN colors that are reminiscent of her homeland in Brazil! She recently exhibited her textiles at Print Source in NYC and was able to share some of those images with us!

For those of you who aren't familiar with Print Source it is the Premier Market for Surface & Textile Design in the USA & holds up to 3 shows a year! It's a great place to go if you're looking to break into the FABRIC design business as they showcase hundreds of collections by international surface & textile design studios and agents!

If you have a minute check out Vanessa's blog & site, she's definitely someone to talk to if you have a question or two about starting your own business!

Grace Designs Handbags & Home Accessories...(Via Made By Girl)

I love this shop, Grace Designs, Art + Home Accessories. They carry some really colorful handbags and totes as well as a variety of Kimono Pillows (which I love). The owner of the shop, Alison designs all you see here using found obi's and kimono's from Japan...how cool is that??

I can definitely see myself sporting the vintage Japanese obi pouch! The geometric pattern on the fabric and the clipped on feather is what I love the most! Go ahead and visit her store here for more pretty pieces!

House Beautiful Fabrics For Your Home .....

Remember when I blogged about the "Colors For Your Home" book here?  Well, I was sent this book (House Beautiful Fabrics For Your Home) by Sterling Publishing and I have to say....it's just as helpful & informative! It talks about how to pull the look of a room together by selecting specific fabrics while providing a mix of practical information & INSPIRATION for the home decorator (like me)!

It also includes insider advice on how to THINK about color, pattern & palette. This, I admit I have trouble with...selecting the best pattern combos. They also have a great searchable swatch index you can flip through (very handy)....and lots more! I highly recommend this book! You can purchase copy here.

Do any of you own this book?? How do you like it?

Serena & Lily....

Gorgeous FABRICS are always so uplifting BUT hard to come by! I was sent an email by the people over at Serena & Lily regarding their fabric collection and customizable headboard options . I love the idea that I could purchase a headboard and have it delivered in the fabric of my choice (via their shop). I noticed they also had an interesting collection of CHAIRS to be upholstered as you wish.

Feel free to browse their shop here and let me know what you like best. They also have a Bazaar section, which I found quite interesting...with several unique pieces I'm sure you'll love!
