My 50,000th Ebay Purchase...

Well not really. But I swear it feels like it!! Recall this post where I was searching for some Louis chairs?!? Well, I was hoping to land 6 chairs for under $1000 and that is what I scored on Ebay!
Just call me the negotiator....because this was a great deal! However, 2 things that I may have to change, the GOLD color paint to (probably) white....& in the distant future, maybe even removing the cane backing & replacing it with a solid back. For now, thankfully I'm HAPPY with my choice.

The next thing I have to figure out is, will I be SELLING my current farm style table & chairs or just the chairs??!??  I will make that decision within a week or so. In the meanwhile, do any of you have any suggestions on what COLOR combo would work well for these chairs and maybe even a fabric suggestion??!?

What would you do if these were yours??

In my search for Louis Style Chairs.....

I have a HUGE fascination for Louis Style chairs.  I regularly check Ebay to see if I can land a heck of a DEAL someday!  I haven't had much luck....I mean just about EVERYTHING you see that says "LOUIS" is over $1000!  Louis is such a BIG shot, he just doesn't want to give me the opportunity to land 6 CHAIRS for under $1000.  I mean come on, I would constantly blog about it and then you'd maybe even get a few more sales after.  Please Louis....appear before me and be just under $1000!!

Just curious, do any of you own a Louis chair?  Would love to hear where you purchased yours and if you got a good deal.

Yes, these chairs above are actually $875 for 6....but I am still uncertain about the cane backing...

My Latest Ebay Win....

I will not be posting tomorrow because I'm going away on a SPA weekend trip with my husband.  So, I'd like to leave you with a post about my recent Ebay purchase.

I've been bidding on Ebay for a few years now & it wasn't until last year that I experienced my 1st disappointment with a seller.  Some of you may recall this post where I won a Tretchikoff piece of art. I was SUPER EXCITED until it NEVER arrived!  Even though I communicated with the seller & she refunded my $$$, I was very annoyed.   I had pictured exactly where this print would be hung and thought about it day after day.... then... Oh my gosh, nothing!

Lately, I haven't had an problems with sellers on Ebay, thank God!  In fact, my latest purchase, an authentic Gucci vintage bag (which I won for $179) had been on my list for years. It was a relief when it finally arrived safely, all in one piece & DID NOT SMELL like cigarette smoke! (one of my fears)  That would have killed it for me since I am NOT a smoker & I'm allergic to cigarettes.  Great tip: If you're selling something, always make sure it doesn't smell like cigarette smoke!

So, the Tretchikoff ordeal was my only problem with Ebay, and I still continue to look for bargains via their site.

What has your experience with Ebay been like?  Have you ever had an Ebay NIGHTMARE??
Did you ever win something and never receive it? What did you do?

I will see you all on Monday, as I will be leaving on a weekend SPA getaway tomorrow (Friday) morning! I'll be checking in to see your comments on this post on Saturday or Sunday. Talk to you soon!
