Were you around in the 80's?!? If you said YES, then I'm sure you remember the popular personalized name necklaces that just about every teenage girl wore. And, they were so pricey!!
I was waaaaay too young & NOT cool enough to wear these - but all the older girls at my school definitely had them. I knew one day I'd own one, but had no idea it would be in 2013.
Just to give you a little history, these name necklaces have been spotted on popular celebrities from Rhianna to Madonna. But the most iconic name necklace gal has to be Sarah Jessica Parker wearing her 'Carrie' necklace on Sex & the City! She revived the trend & made it popular - so once again, EVERY girl has to have one with her name on it! Not only can you buy one with your name, but you can gift one to your best friend, or wear one with your daughter's name & so on! Get creative.
You can now buy these wanna-be Carrie Bradshaw necklaces made of 18k GOLD plated over Sterling
silver at MADE BY GIRL.

I love name necklaces :)
ReplyDeleteI certainly am happy to see this...when I was in middle school I forced my Mom to buy me a nameplate necklace (and a pricey one)...then I kind of promptly lost interest in it...I gotta start wearing it again, my Mom would be thrilled :)
ReplyDeleteI love these! What a fantastic gift idea.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in high school 2003, my boyfriend bought me a name plate with my name, I would wear his and he would wear mine. It was a way for us to let people know we were together. I still have mine and his, to this very day we are together and married. :)

ReplyDeleteThe name necklace idea is really great. It is so cute. And I guess it would make a perfect gift for Christmas too.
ReplyDeleteI actually have two like these - one monogrammed and one with my name in actual gold. My mom had made them for me as gifts for my previous birthdays. :)
