So many amazing artists out there & 2 that I really LOVE are, Lou Shabner & Vladimir Tretchikoff. The pin-ups girls are by Lou....his style is mesmerizing & I am still looking to get my hands on one of these via Ebay. In the meanwhile, I'll also hunt down an affordable, original Tretchikoff, but I'll take a reproduction. I also love J.H Lynch, of course, their styles are strikingly similar. Anyone out there own any of these beauties?? Where did you get yours?

ReplyDeleteYou are TOTALLY right....I love J.H too...and I always get that painting confused for one of Vladamir's or Shabner's for some reason. Their styles are similar. Anyway, I corrected it, thanks for the heads up! :)
The painting of the woman with the black hair next to the tree was hanging in the bedroom of my parents when I was young. Nice to see it again!

ReplyDeleteHi - I have lived in Africa all my life - until the last 3 years -now in Ireland. I am lucky enough to own a huge, signed book of Tretchikoff's paintings(1935)His work has had a great influence on an exhibition I am working towards at the moment called 'Exotica'. Visit www.viewfineart.com and under artist Jennie Castle click on 'Exotica' for a preview .... Thanks for the interesting post. Jen
ReplyDeleteI am a huge collector and RESELLER of all of these retro prints. (that is my Lady of the Orient framed print)View www.tretchikoff.com.au for some great info and some of my prints from the 1960's. The top Shabner girl is called Nichole, very much like Jackie O and Sophia Loren, that classic beauty. regards Pam
ReplyDeleteI also love Tretchikoff and Lynch prints and have been lucky enough to find a few of them. I really want to get the Girl of the Orient print, perhaps not that big though! I've just done a similar post on my own blog about the prints I've got, so if you're interested, you can have a look at my pictures there.
