I thought this was quite an interesting home via Skona hem. Most of us wouldn't think of painting our kitchen cabinets in blue...but I really think it fits well in this particular home. The reason being, the blue continues throughout the home, which gives it a good flow. What do you think of this blue kitchen? Do you think it works?
I really like it, it's unusual for sure, but it works. I have a magazine that features a beautiful Danish kitchen with cobalt blue cupboards, paired with light blue and white tiles. It's also lovely.

The blue works. the kitchen in the house i grew up in had blue and green cupboards. so I have a bias for the color. I think what makes this beautiful is the finish.

ReplyDeleteOh I recognize this guy. He is an swedish actor /singer and he played in one of my favorite movies Änglamark.
ReplyDeleteThe lady in the Jesus picture is looking a lot like a swedish jazzsinger that died a couple of years ago, Monica Zetterlund.Loved the pictures from his (?) apartement. :)

I love how that oven/stove becomes a focal point, with it's fabulous gold details. It really looks great with the light flooring to tie it in and blue cabinetry that pops. What an lovely home!

ReplyDeleteJen, that's a fantastic question you pose. I think the reason why most people don't use such a bold color of blue for the kitchen is that it's not a color that tends to open one's palette or appetite. Not many foods that occur naturally in nature are blue and so psychologically, we tend to think of reds, greens, yellows etc when it comes to food.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely a bold color a kitchen and it's done in a really nice and modern way. For myself, I would not paint my kitchen this color because of the aforementioned reason that it's not a color that opens the appetite. However, aesthetically - it's definitely cool and chic and the entire apartment looks wonderful :)
I'm curious whether you would paint your kitchen blue Jen? Great post!
