My search for Lighting ....

I'm seriously looking for either new lamps, to PAINT the ones in my bedroom you see here, or paint and add a new shade. My preference would be an all white lamp with gold ring at the bottom of the base, but I haven't decided yet.

Coming across so many amazing LAMPS all over the place probably isn't helping! However, I'm certain something will strike me! I came across some I really liked, let me know what you think. I'd love to know where you shop for lighting....

Do you have a favorite source for lamps??

  1. I'm in LOVE with the first one from Shades of Light, the one with the beautiful pattern on the shade!

A lot of the places you've selected, we don't have or don't ship to Canada :( Home Sense (Goods) is my go-to spot for lighting. Or Universal Lighting for eye candy.

Good luck with your search, I know it's hard when there is just so much pretty ;)

  2. I love that first one from Shades of Light. Absolutely adore that lampshade. I find nice lamps at TJ Maxx (we don't have a Home Goods)

But I'd probably shop the internet if I was needing something specific after checking TJ Maxx.

  3. I've been seeing so many amazing lamps at TJ Maxx too and of course home goods!

I love all those pretty lamp shades

  6. I love ZGallerie and I'm sad they closed the one here in St. Louis

  7. Lately I have seen some good lamps in Home Goods, one in particular that I am drooling over has a coral shaped orange base...

You could paint those ones you have, but seems like you fancy a wider bulbous base. I'd check TJ or Home Goods.

Good luck, cant wait to see what you come up with!

  8. If you have a Tuesday Morning near you, they are great. It is hit or miss if you will find what you need, but when you do it is almost always perfect.

  9. Oh my gosh, I am LOVING the shades of light shades, esp. the gray zebra print!

My favorite place for lamps is Home Goods. They always have a great selection of large, quality, modern lamps.

Good luck in your search! I'm sure you'll end up with something fabulous :)

  11. You just can't beat Target's prices! = )

  12. Hands down, my go-to for lamps is Home Goods - despite their tendency for non-paired, or slightly "off" lamps. You can't say no to their prices.
HowEVAH....those shades by Shades of Light are killer. Go basic lamp, great shade!

P.S. - Know it sound nuts, but have you checked Walmart's website?

  15. I love to buy lamps at Home Goods and Target. They are by far the most affordable. If I find a really great lamp base somewhere, I'll go to Lamps Plus to get a great shade. They are reasonably priced as well. I am in love with lamps and the one's you posted are simply gorgeous. I want them all.

  24. MY LITTLE HAPPY PLACE: Nope, haven't looked at Walmart site, but I do know that once in while i find something on there i like. Thank you for reminding me. :)))

  25. SPEARMINT BABY: I don't actually mind the brassy look...i just don't like the shades so much. It seems like it's super hard to find bright white (not cream) colored shades. I did visit home goods and there was only one, same thing at lamps plus....frustrating! thanks! :)))

  26. surprisingly, I"m really liking the Target one! In Canada I go to Homesense which is like a TJ Maxx on steroids - I have found the most amazing lamps there for amazing prices. :)

  27. I kind of like the idea of using the ones you have with new shades. You could definitely try out some spray paint if you're not feeling the brass. Also, the HomeGoods photo is my house...Paloma from La Dolce Vita spotted it and sent me over here to check it out!

  28. KSK: Oh, I didnt know. I found it on the home goods blog actually. I have now linked it to your webpage instead. :))) Thanks!

  36. If I could afford them it would be artemide - gorgeous. Their designs are absolutely incredible. I love their "Castore" Table lamp by Huub Ubbens and Michele De Lucchi. It's very contemporary, very sleek.

  46. Unfortunately I'm not going to be any help in this department. I'm obsessed with lamps, always finding a new one I like. My husband has officially told me to stop buying lamps! LOL

  47. I would leave them gold and see if you can find a gold mushroom shade for them, alla Kelly Wreastler style. Good luck!

  48. I always go to TJ Max and Marshalls first to check out their lighting selection...then if I'm not inspired, I head to the usual haunts you've listed. The lamp shades you featured in this post are gorgeous.

  51. I love Shades of Light! I am lucky enough to live close to their retail store. But they have a great website too that has sooo many unique lights! Love it!

  52. Jen! I loved this post! I hope you've got it all sorted now. I'm searching for a similar lamp base to the first white one from shades of light. Alas Australia doesn't have a lot of these beauties so the search continues. You have excellent taste!
