Making room for a sewing area
In my home office I set aside another corner for my little sewing machine & desk. Next time I will show you my main desk area. Anyhow, while shopping at Walmart for ENERGY saving bulbs, I came across these cool wooden letters. I had to have them So i painted them in a cool turquoise blue and will hang them up over my main desk. For now, i've placed them there to take the shots. I need a few more decor items for this wall next to my mirror....not sure what though....any ideas? The baby pink mirror was gold, I also painted that. The red piece under the sewing machine is a soft antique red leather which i LOVE! Same leather i used to make the 'Red Hot' table on my site. www.madebygirl.com
This a great post.
ReplyDeleteI love the cool turquoise letters and that pink mirror is delicious!
Maybe a really shallow floating shelf somewhere???
It's great that you're eco-conscious and all that, but have you considered using something other than -leather- for your designs? I noticed you love animals (particularly dogs), but leather is animal skin is it not? Not only is that counter environmental, but also horrendously cruel to animals. No hard feelings (I don't mean to offend); just my .02 that's all -- your designs have fantastic potential (I just know the darkside of the leather industry and I love animals soooo much!)

Hey Wendy,
ReplyDeleteI'm not a vegetarian so I eat animal meat. Mostly chicken and beef. I love meat and I don't go out to hunt it myself and kill it. Whether they kill the animal one way or another, the are still killing it. I'm hoping you're a vegetarian. I don't like cruelty to animals either and I guess i can make tables from Naughahyde.... I just might. But they sure don't have the same look and feel as leather. Do you think if we ran across a list of things you have in your home, would your home be 100% eco-friendly?? Anyway, thanks for your 2 cents.
Oh, I love your color choice on the letters! Your creations are amazing. Keep up the fabulous work!
ReplyDeleteI just did a post today on my workshop, not a bit like your organised and lovely area.

Wendy, I do think you are being offensive in your own way. If you want to respond leave your email or email me at: jen@madebygirl.com. I understand what you are trying to tell me, but not everyone is interested in what you are trying to do here.
ReplyDeletethanks.
