Design: Art Inspired Room

Good morning everyone! I'm Katie from H2 Design.  I am thrilled to be one of the new decor contributors over here at the MadeByGirl blog

What you will find about me, is that when it comes to interiors, I am a huge fan of mixing it up! No matching furniture sets, please! So, let's put this idea to work! And what better way to start than by styling a room around one of Jen's smaller paintings available through Cocoa and Hearts, right?

I have always loved the palettes Jen creates, not to mention her skills at creating a stylish vignette! Honestly, the hardest part was choosing a favorite! But after a bit of deliberating, I chose Colors 189, featuring a bright fuchsia, royal blue, sandy buff, creamy white, and golden yellow.

Now on to the decorating...

1 / Let's start with a little bling.
Satellite Chandelier via DWR
2 / Add some timeless comfort and a large dosage of color.
Landau Sofa via Jayson Home
pillows (from left to right) via AriannaBell, Zinc Door, Anthropologie, MarthaAndAsh, AriannaBell
3 / Of course, every room needs an iconic modern splash.
Saarinen Low Oval Coffee Table via DWR
4 / A comfy spot to get a little work done (or just to catch up on some online design blogs!).
Glass Rounded Table Lamp via abc home
Raymond Desk via Jayson Home
Claude Dining Chair via Jonathan Adler
Vintage Books Box Set via Anthropologie
5 / A little something to warm your feet.
Agadir Twists Rug via Anthropologie
6 / And last, but certainly not least, we all need a bit of vintage charm.
pair of Vintage Knoll Chairs via Jayson Home
Kartell Stone Stool via abc home

Wasn't that easy! Until next time everyone... Happy decorating!

I'm a huge fan as well of mixing it up,although I'm not so huge into color I like to pick it up in pattern and texture. I love the chandelier as well as the iconic Saarien table. Great mix and look forward to more of your posts!
