After careful consideration I decided on the ZGallerie Axel dining table. I really liked the thickness of the wood and also figured that I probably wasn't going to like SMACKING my feet into this table, which was my original choice. I also chose the amazing LARGE Celon beaded chandelier from Ballard. After I bought the Atoll Mirror, I was sent a 20% discount coupon, (so I had to take advantage of it...I love discounts!). Let me know your thoughts...as I always I read them all!
Nothing is set in stone, even though I've purchased all of these items...I can always place them elsewhere.....
I love the mix! Your chairs are gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteWOW, the space is going to look amazing if you do decide to stick with the plan. I'm really loving that beaded chandelier, and the price isn't too shabby either!
ReplyDeleteVery cool,
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how the new place morphs under your magic.

That is going to look amazing! Great choices. I am also in love with that chandelier and I am so tempted to buy it for my own dining room. Can't wait to see it all put together.
ReplyDeleteI adore your style. Love it all, but I think you need a pop of color. While I like the beaded chandelier- I don't love it with everything else.
ReplyDeleteThose pieces are going to look amazing together! Love your style.
ReplyDeleteSUGAR: No worries...the pops of color will come with accessories. This is NOT my total dining space...I can still move stuff around my house if it doesn't appeal to that space.:))
ReplyDeleteSUGAR: P.S. I may actually add color to the artwork- we'll see when it all arrives. I have a HUGE canvas Im going to paint...
ReplyDeleteI think CB2 sells/sold a very similar version of that table too!
ReplyDeleteTrue! Things can always be moved around, I do it all the time! Great picks...Janell
ReplyDeletelove it all, actually! That's quite rare for me :) I prefer neutrals in dining rooms, then you can fill them with flowers, food, and gorgeous guests..
ReplyDeleteI actually like the table that you didn't buy better. But they one that you did get is awesome, too. It is going to look great with the chairs that you "made". :)
ReplyDeleteReally like this all together--especially that rug and chandelier! You should totally do the art yourself :)
ReplyDeleteWell I love them, great choices. I really like the chandelier.
ReplyDeleteOh I love it! And those chairs....
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with you blog!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's all very nice and cute!!! Colorful!!!
Loved!!!
I copied some photos from your blog, I hope you don't mind. If you do, please tell me, so I can erase from my blog!
Again, realy nice blog!
See ya!
I am most smitten with the artwork and hide (go figure:) I reproduced a painting like that in my living room and it actually turned out really well- easy and adds a definite masculine/graphic contrast to my pink living room. I think it will do the same with your dining room- balance the feminine chandelier and chairs. Looks very much like my kind of room so two thumbs way up from me.
ReplyDeleteLove your scheme Jen, and I'm really looking forward to seeing it all come together. Especially love the idea of a large, dramatic piece of art - not that I'm biased or anything!!! K xx
ReplyDeleteI can already see it. I love it! (thanks for the tips :)
ReplyDeleteOne word...LOVE. Your louis chairs are fantastic and I want that hide rug!! You are doing such a great job in your new home Jen, your inspiring me :)
ReplyDeleteNancy xo

ReplyDeleteCHRISTINE:
ReplyDeletehello there! :)
I think it's great when people can create artwork to hang in their homes...a personal touch is always nice! I'd LOVE to see yours...do you have a link to it???
ANA: I dont mind at all if you copied some pics as long as you credit my blog...thank you!:)))
ReplyDeleteKERRI:
ReplyDeleteMe too...I thought long & hard about what i would place as art in the dining area...it has to be a LARGE piece - and i just happen to have that LARGE canvas... :))) Thinking about framing it....
NANCY: aww thanks! That hide rug I just bought on Ebay...so weird, it wasnt my first choice...the one i wanted got snatched up right away..oh well. I am liking this one more & more now though...
ReplyDeleteLovin' the chairs. Awesome!

Im loving everything you have so far! When your place is finished I have a feeling that I will be saving the pics in my inspiration file xx
ReplyDeleteProbably this is the most exhausting and exciting time together.
ReplyDeleteIsn´t it great to receive your furniture home, feels like presents are brought to you (even when you paid for it yourself)
I like everything you have bought for your dining area, chapeau;)
Can´t wait to see all set! Great expectations!
ReplyDeleteBest regards,
Graciela
i've been designing my dining room in my head too and even purchased a table and returned it :( looks like you have a good concept and i love those chairs and the chandelier of course. not sure about the table with the chairs though...i considered this table but didn't know what chairs to put with it. i'm sure it'll all look good in the end and have a great mix of elements.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to look so gorgeous! I hadn't seen that chandelier yet at Ballards. Love it!

Love all of these pieces! I've been considering a hide rug for my dining room but I had reservations...I was worried chairs would get caught on it when pushed in/out. Your thoughts?
ReplyDeleteSeeing a hide rug in your plan has given me the nudge I needed to go for it. I trust your judgment:)
ANDREA: It all depends...I would opt for a large rug, so that it fits under the table and with most of the chairs. I am not sure if i am going to place the rug under the table or beside it just yet...But I totally get the whole thing about having the chairs get caught on the rug etc. I say try things out, if it doesn't suit or work in the space- move it elsewhere. That's what I plan to do... :)))
ReplyDeleteI love it, Jen! Very modern and comfy looking. I want to be invited for dinner! LOL I agree that maybe you can paint a few of your own pieces; personalize it even more. Looking fwd to seeing end result! Loving the black and white throughout the house. Very chic =)

I love it love it love!
ReplyDeleteToday I have ordered almost the same dining table, just with lighter wood.
I am sooo looking forward to see how your place will turn out! Good luck with everything!
Hey Jen, I liked the more rustic look of the other table better with the Louis chairs this doesn't seem to work that well. Love the hide and the artwork though.
ReplyDeleteHi Jen
ReplyDeleteI love the chunky timber on the table.
The rug is great as it is a little different. It isn't a zebra (which we are getting soon ;-), it isn't a cow hide - it is an easy colour to work with and it gives of your individuality :-)
I am sure you can add colour with extras - vasses, books, ornament thingy's. Mind you grey scales are quite soothing :-)
Enjoy all the planning and new decorating xx
Is that the Ballard chandelier? I am in love with it for my lr. Might just have to go for it.
ReplyDeleteWhere is that abstract art from??? I love it!!
ReplyDeleteCHLOE: The artwork is by Franz Kline.... :)
ReplyDeleteYour chairs are very cute. I like the colour, so clean. Very cute if it will be paired to a shiny black table.
