WHAT'S MISSING?!?!? Flowers!
Trust me, I realize I NEED a pop of color, so I'll be buying fresh flowers every week to place on the console. I REALLY think flowers will brighten things up!
The cool black & silver studded lamp is from Home Goods & the 2 drawer console table is from Target. The Atoll mirror is even more pretty in person....from Ballard Designs.
PIGGY is by designer Harry Allen via Areaware.
Above: Yes, I did say I had high ceilings throughout my house, especially in my entryway. That's my front door....it's such a cool and tall arched door, I love it.
Originally, I thought of buying a WHITE console, but I think that would've been overkill! I absolutely love the ZEBRA hide rug, it makes the entryway look even more dramatic and it helps protect my floors when my DOGS run down to the foyer! Let me know what you think...I'll be reading!!

Yum! I'm a big fan of the high ceilings. Great look with the zebra rug. Is it secured to the floor somehow?

It looks gorgeous! I'm so envious of your high ceilings and white walls. I have a piece from the same line as your Target console, but changed the knobs with Anthropologie ones. It added lots of interest. Just a tip :)

ReplyDeleteJen..youve done a fantastic job..LOVE IT..and yes your right..a pop of colour is all it needs..and flowers are perfect...I was going to suggest something glass...just to add another texture to the arrangement as it always looks so perfect teamed up with black..perhaps a glass vase with flowers?
ReplyDeleteSomething under the console would look kinda cool too...an umbrella stand? or basket or small rustic wooden stool..to compliment your earthy African pieces on your console?
Glad you found the perfect spot for your piggy :)
Love the way its all coming together..you are getting through so much in such a small space of time..awesome job honey xo

Thanks!

I love your entry, very dramatic. I really adore the mirror. Would you consider putting an uphostered x stool under the table in a bright color such as pink or yellow. It is nice to have a seat in the entry.
ReplyDeleteAmy R.
Jen, it is absolutely beautiful! I do a lot of black and white in my home, so I'm partial towards what you've done. :) I think that fresh flowers will be the perfect accent. I love all of these photos of the new house!

ReplyDeleteI just saw a side table similar to this on Craigslist! Great mirror...don't think I'll find that one on CL!!!
ReplyDeleteI adore it too! I think something like a large piece of pottery underneath the table in a lighter color would be a great touch too! :-)
ReplyDeleteI've been working on my house a lot lately and there is just so many things to consider when "going for it". You do it well!
Ok so I know I am late but I LOVE your foyer and the high ceils are to die for.

Love what you've done with your foyer - the mirror is gorgeous! Another POP of color?...maybe a small stool - or two - in aqua or turqoise.
ReplyDeleteLove it .. even without the flowers. I have a similar console table in my foyer .. in white (against a blue mettalic paint finish). LOVE the BLACK console look :)
ReplyDeletePEARLGIRL: I like that idea and I love the colors you suggested...thanks! :))
ReplyDeleteOh how fun to be decorating your new place! I have to say the foyer is GREAT Jen! Fresh flowers will really make that console pop!
ReplyDeleteEven a house plant (to save on the $ of buying flowers weekly) would look great on the console table in a colorful pot, or even a neutral one would make the green of the plant really shine!
The zebra rug is perfection. What a score on that cute lamp too!
Clearly I am in agreement with all of the other comments, but your place rocks!! I love the dark wood floors and white walls. Oh and that zebra rug is perfect!! Fantastic job!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a grand entrance, love it! I am so happy you got the hardwood floor you so wanted, hope you feel like home and be very happy at your new place!
