Dog Fashion...

Both of my dogs have relatively decent looking collars. Well, one of my dogs does, the other one just has a hand-me-down collar from one of my previous dogs & it's PRETTY DARN OLD! In fact he only wears it when we go outside.

My female boxer is a bit more SPOILED & she has a nicer collar..... but it has little round studs that SCRATCH the walls in my home whenever she rubs against them! Argh!!

So all ranting aside, I've been thinking of SPLURGING on a new one for my female dog....I love all the stylish options I've seen out there!  So, in case you're in the market for a new collar (like me) this Holiday & want something stylish, take a look at these options!

Do you prefer buying fancy dog collars & leashes or keeping it simple??

  7. I love the stylish collars but I've gone with simple ones for my two dogs. Maybe if they were girls I'd splurge on a fancy collar- love the pink coach!!

  8. I think that if you can afford to buy your dog a good quality and fancy leash, then why not, right?

  9. I actually have a Coach collar and leash set (completely made of leather, not the fabric/leather mix) that my dog has worn for over five years now, and it still looks amazing. I purchased mine at a Coach outlet for about $75 for the set, which was well worth the money considering it will last forever. If they get dirty, they can easily be cleaned since they're leather. I highly recommend these to anyone.

  10. They are so pretty, but i've had experiences with the fancy buckles getting caught on things--mostly afraid that will happen when i am not around. So, keeping it simple for my boys and girl.

  12. I have the gray Coach collar for my little mini dachshund, Bentley...and he absolutely loves it. Literally, he gets so excited to wear it! Its getting a little old, so I'm thinking of getting the striped one from Henri Bendel.

  13. BROOKE: For some reason I've always preferred fancier collars for female dogs too!

  14. HANNAH: I really think the leather ones are more practical, especially if your dog is outside a lot. Much easier to clean for sure!

  17. I have the sparkly name collar for my dog and I love it! Of course, she's a chihuahua mix and isn't outdoors often. The coach one is adorable as well! Whatever you choose, you better post pics of the little furballs with their new collars! :)

  22. I considered one...and would buy one if they came in the harness style. Our little Ruffles wears the Martha Stewart harness...it is sturdy, and not so hard on the nedk area. She does have more bows than my daughter did. Even has a bow drawer that you had better not open unless you're ready to put one on her...thanks for sharing these...beverlee

  23. Hi Jen! I never got the chance to email you and tell you that my sweet little fur baby that I was telling you about passed away 2 weeks ago :( I miss him so much. Hubby and I are such dog people that we are already looking at what to get next, we are thinking of boxers! He is in LOVE with them.

On another note, I had to include your gold LOVE print in my 'All I want for Christmas' post today! :)

  24. If I spy cool collars while traveling, i grab them. 3 years ago it was Union Jack collars from Harrod's in London. 2 years ago it was Hawaiin floral collars. Right now my four loving beasts are currently sporting each of Jonathan Adler's collar designs. they all wash really well

  27. Hi Jen,
Check out 3 Pooches on Etsy, she embroiders your dog's name on a nylon collar in any combo you choose...maybe a good option for your boy dog too, my chocolate lab is on his second one, I just throw it in the wash when it gets dingy looking :).

  32. Fancy collars! Even though my lab likes to roll in dead salmon, I love his collar. We bought it from a craftsmen in Whistler before we moved to the US to remind us of Canada, it is made from a gorgeous piece of leather with a hand-forged buckle and 1965 Cdn anniversary nickels all over {the nickels have rabbits on them - my dog loves to chase rabbits} Most I paid for a dog collar but worth it!

We get complements all the time :)

On another note, boxers are great. They are super friendly, smart, and they don't bark very much at all....they are very affectionate so get ready for lots of kisses. wishing you the best!
