A Boutique Hotel in Las Vegas...

I'll be heading to NYC soon & staying at the Marcel -will tell you all how that goes after I get back. However, if you're heading this way to Las Vegas, there's an interesting new hotel in town called Rumor.

I know, it's a CHEESY name, as most Vegas places are - but this is a boutique hotel & in this city, they are rare. It's close to all the main hotels on the LV strip for those of you who enjoy that kind of thing!

The decor seems pretty attractive so I think me & the MR. may just book a weekend there sometime!

I've always thought this town was sooooooooooo backwards and not HIP enough - always lacked culture!

That could very well be that I lived in NYC for most of my life & was used to so much diversity. So it's nice when something new & interesting pops up here in LV....however, I wish it would be museums and coffee shops, less nightclubs & hotels.  Know what I mean jellybean??

Have you been to Rumor yet?  Do you like boutique hotels?

  1. So funny that you talked about this hotel because I was about to book a room with them for Halloween weekend! Not gonna be able to wing it this time but for sure next time I'm in LV, I will be at the Rumor! :) The prices aren't bad either, so chic!

  3. I stayed at The Rumor 2 weeks ago. It was good for the price (super cheap when we went) but it's definitely not like the hotels on the strip (I highly recommend The Cosmopolitan but definitely pricier). The Rumor is quite a few blocks from the strip but you can easily take a taxi. The pool was nice to lounge at but they said they would be closing it for the season soon (didn't know Vegas had much for seasons). Overall, for the cost, it's nice to stay at. If you get a king room, be sure to request a bathtub. They have great big bathtubs in the room for a nice soak.

  5. Hello Jen!
First of all I must say my favourite pictures are those of the bathrooms. I think that this boutique hotel is a bit different than the ones in Europe but then again it has elements of LV, hasn;t it? Anyway maybe someday I will visit. Who Knows.

  23. Looks amazing! I love to stay at the Hotel Des Arts in SF. The rooms have been painted by local artists so they are covered in some amazing murals.

  24. I stayed at this hotel last November. It's really reasonably priced for Las Vegas. It's not a family hotel, it's great for girls trips or a couples weekend. My husband and I walked to the strip - it was a hike. I really liked the decor and the tub in our room. What I didn't like, it was valet and when we didn't want to walk, it was a pain. They do not all low outside food or drinks in your room which I found to be a little annoying.

  25. AMNDASMITG: yea las vegas gets pretty chilly during winter time, & the pools are way too cold!

  26. DEBBIE: it is pretty far from the strip by foot, by car it's very close by... So valet is what they have. I can't believe you can't bring outside food into ur room?? Weird!

  27. AMY: ha! I bet anywhere in Europe (pretty much) has more cafes than las vegas!

  28. CHRISTY: neat! But I bet the rental for the party was more affordable at this hotel versus bellagio.. But yes, both are beautiful.

  30. Yes! I have been booking suites at Rumor since they opened at least once a month for some of my photo shoots and love it! I always get their Deluxe Suites, since they are more spacious.

Rumor is more laid back and accessible than most hotels here in Vegas. And they are always having fun events in the courtyard like fashion shows or Yappy Hour where you can bring your dogs!

  31. Oh, I do agree with Amanda though. The Cosmopolitan is definitely nicer! I do shoots there way more than Rumor because of this, depending on which package my clients get.

If you are looking to do a staycation with your guy in Vegas, I would do the Cosmo and get their Studio Suite with Premium view of the Bellagio Fountains and the Eiffel Tower! Maybe go for dinner at Jaleo or Milo's beforehand and dfinitely drinks at the different levels of the Chandelier bar! So fun!

Oh and for a late night snack, go on a mystery hunt for their secret pizza joint! (hint....look for the wall of record covers)
