The question is what do I add in BLACK?!?!?!?!? My main guest room is painted ALL WHITE so I'm definitely starting with a blank canvas. Well... whatever I decide I've got plenty of inspiration below!

Do you have BLACK accents in your own home? What are they??
Beautiful, and I love that there is an eensy pop of color in each room from yellow to red to teal.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your inspiration photos!
ReplyDeleteI have my biggest wall in my master bedroom painted in black chalkboard paint - I draw a new headboard every-so-often... different things - side tables...
I highly recommend a black wall!!!
;-D Have FUN!

I love using black in my home, I feel like it grounds the room and gives a strong focal point. In my bedroom I have black dressers and a black chandelier. In my kitchen I have open shelving with black dishes.
ReplyDeleteWhatever you choose will be fabulous - can't wait to see the progress of the room!
Oh yes! I love black accents. I have a wall near my dining table painted black and I love it! You should check out my blog I have a few pictures posted because I am re-decorating. I love your style and frequent your blog for inspiration!
ReplyDeleteVery sexy, casual and confort.
ReplyDeleteIloved the colours and so stilyst!
Love the first picture with that incredible black wall and that window...fantastic. I did a black flock paper on a wall in our teenagers bedroom with lots of hot pink accessories...to date, one of my all time favorite spaces...good luck!
ReplyDeletei have to say, i only have a few accents here and there but i LOVE your inspiration! the patterned tile floor is gorgeous...and i love that first bedroom! great finds...

I LOVE black- I just painted all of my mainfloor doors black and with the brass hardware, they look so fabulous. I want to add black to my new kitchen too- we'll see. In any event, I'm all for it- If it's your guest room, I'd go all in and do some black wallpaper on every wall- like one of my favourites- Nina Campbell Parroquet in black- soooo fab!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE LOVE the black! That's amazing. I am currently in process of adding that color to my home after seeing some similar posts elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. I love black accents. I've got a black galaxy granite table top in my kitchen, and it's so easy to add other coloures to completely change the room.
ReplyDeleteI have tons of black accents in my home. In my family room, I made off-white linen drapes and trimmed them with a black grosgrain trim. You'll also find in my family room a jute rug with a black trim and black picture frames. My bathrooms are a great of example of my take on using black in your home (check out my blog).
ReplyDeleteSince you're doing your guest bdr. I suggest a black lampshade for your lamps and add a black and white rug (ie. chevron or stripe rug).
i have none...
ReplyDeletebut this is a very inspiring colletion! i could even imagine a dark brown accent wall... maybe because it's warmer, but don't know... :)

I like a little black in every room. Right now I'm under-funded and -decorated and so my black touches are: a headset, some slippers and a puppy.
ReplyDeleteLove the images and look forward to seeing your room.
I love the first pic with the black accent wall... Check out what a Canadian designer did in her guest suite with a black and white wallpaper...it's amazing and just the right amount of black!

ReplyDeleteMost of my interior doors are black (French doors, hall closet doors)! I love it and it really grounds the room. First thing people comment on when they come in!!
ReplyDeleteOmg all these are GOOOORGEOUS! I love that black and gray wallpaper in (i think it was) image number 3!! But I am a sucker for a zebra or cow hide rug too... So many wonderful options!! What would be kinds of amazing would be keeping the walls all white and painting the ceiling black with a big white ceiling medallion and a slick chandelier?? Just a thought....
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm......I love every single picture you have here. I didn't know I had the same obsession, until now! LOVE!
ReplyDeleteI want it all. Every room. Thanks and God Bless America.

I think every room needs some black. I love the image with the black stairs. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of black accents in my house. Black and white artwork, black furniture here and there, a black bedroom, and BLACK DOORS! Try the doors, its really an awesome way to infuse black without it being overwhelming!
ReplyDeleteMmmm, those black lacquered stairs are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh, Jen!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and sexy!
Gorgeous pictures! Can't choose only one. :-)

Oh, I love the black stairs and the black and white striped painted walls - I definitely want to give this a go! We have black lamps in the bedroom (with a tear drop base and a large canvas lamp shade - beautiful), black and white fabric covered inspiration boards in the study and kitchen. I'm thinking a black dresser for the baby (arriving in April) too!
ReplyDeleteBlack accents would look stunning in your home.
ReplyDeleteI love black accents - those striped curtains and those painted glossy stairs *sigh* ..... love love love. I have black glass chandelier in my dining room

Yes, yes, yes I am a lover of black and white and I have many black accents. I have picture frames in black, my entry floor is carrara marble and absolute black granite. The guest bath is the same marble in a checkerboard pattern. I have white dishes with a few black pieces in my glass front kitchen cupboards. I have so many touches I won't bore you with naming them all. I have my rooms on my sidebar if you want to take a peek at my kitchen, entry and guest bath. Black and white are kind of my signature!! Can't wait to see what you do, I know it will be stunning,Kathysue
ReplyDeleteLemon? My son's new room is black (charcoal) and white with a hint of lemon and red. I think it is so fresh.

I love the combination of black, white and yellow, you can play with them, that such a wall painted black and white vertical stripes? a yellow boudoir?
ReplyDeleteyou and I have envy!
Love the images! A design rule: There always should be a touch of black in {most} rooms! {I love the bedroom wall in black paint, behind the bed only, leaving the rest of the walls white!, Or a black wallpapered wall behind the bed}

Ooo I love the black stair runner on the white staircase! That is beautiful! =)
ReplyDeleteMelanie's Randomness
I love the idea of adding a zebra accent--but I'm having trouble finding the right spot/location/type of accent. I don't want it to clash with other patterns and accents in the room. This post was def. helpful tho, so thank you!
ReplyDeleteOkay, that black staircase. Amazing. Beautiful. Classy. Absolutely bold and gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLamps and wallpaper. x
ReplyDeleteAwesome pictures! I love, love, love the staircase and floor tile. I adore black and white (mostly white) as well.
ReplyDeleteGo for it!
I have a lot of black accents in my home, and I love them. I have a large black pedestal dining table and another black pedestal accent table and a black vanity/desk combo. Black looks very classy and elegant when it's not a black leather bachelor pad couch!
ReplyDeletelast year i added a (very)small chalkboard wall to our family room for our little girls. i loved it so much, i kept going and made the very small wall, an entirely large wall! it was a leeeetle bit scary, but i love it! it was just the little dose of badass that our room needed!
ReplyDeleteLove the second to the last image. So calm, yet super glam
ReplyDeletei'm obsessed with black in interiors. probably a little too much. have black wall in bedroom and laundry, black floors and black and white striped hallway.... as well as in cushions, homewares and art. sometimes i think it's too much but i love it all too much to change! x
ReplyDeleteI painted an accent wall behind my bed a really deep navy and I love it -- it makes everything else pop off the color
ReplyDeleteI LOVE black in the home. So many people are afraid of it but if you have the guts to do it chances are it will look amazing! I actually posted about black walls a while back... check out my blog www.featherednestny.blogspot.com
