Anyone out there a fan of the four poster bed? Katie here, from H2 Design, and I'm ready to convince you! 4 poster beds originally gained popularity in the 15th century and were generally very heavy and ornate. Lucky for us, they have come a long way and can now be seen as the main attraction in stylish bedrooms of all aesthetics.

I've collected some of my favorites below, in no particular order. Whether you're an eclectic collector or an uncluttered modernist, there is a 4 poster bed for you! My only deal breaker is ceilng height. Be sure to give your bed some breathing room... nothing looks good stuffed into anything!
Keep scrolling... I'm not done yet!
So, which is your favorite? I think I would lean towards the eclectic number, although the transitional one might have the best timeless appeal. hmmm...

We have #5, the Room & Board bed, and love it!
ReplyDeletemy fave is the rustic one. although I have a fear of bumping my head or my feet banging banging into it! i am weird, though...i don't even like a footboard on my bed!
ReplyDeleteThe eclectic or vintage would be my pick - depending on the room of course!
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted a four poster bed!! Maybe I watched too many period movies when I was younger! I like the Victorian one!!

Although I don't consider myself a super modern girl, I soo want the Modern four- poster bed in this post. I am also lovin' the Eclectic version by Noir. It is such a statement piece. Great post! One day I would love to have a 4-poster bed in my master bedroom!

I definitely really like the storage in the first photo. As far as beds, I'm really into the contemporary look.

Eclectic definitely. My husband and I have a hard wood four post bed and the headboard has a leather basket weave effect. I love it! But it needs to be styled better. The comforter we have is just...no.
ReplyDeleteFour poster beds were excellent in the past, particularly i Sweden they served as additional shelter against the cold with fabric all around. The perfect little cocoon. Have not had one yet, not sure why, but it's tempting...
ReplyDeleteI love the modern one but I actually have the antique one featured in picture #2. It is currently in my attic gathering dust.
ReplyDeleteThe picture of the country farm house is stunning. I wish I could achieve that minimalistic look in my own home, but I know it will never ever happen!
ReplyDeleteOMG I LOVE these kind of beds:) they make you feel like a true Queen for sure.
