Style at Home Magazine....

I'm sure many of you heave heard of Style at Home magazine, especially my Canadian readers, since it's a Canadian mag. I can't believe I hadn't blogged about this publication before...especially with their website being so full of beautiful (and large) photos! This particular home (below) on their website really stood out to me...dark wood floors, large windows, white walls and so on.  It's the kind of home I dream of when I close my eyes. Well, it's one of many....

Do any of you own any issues of Style at Home?? What do you think of the magazine?

I have the last four of five years or so of the mag. It's really good...Not always as fantastic as Canadian House and Home or Living Etc...but it's fun!

They have a regular feature called "High/Low" that shows two almost identical rooms, one decorated with the best, most expensive options, and the other done on the cheap.

It's my favorite Canadian Decorating magazine! I've been a subscriber on and off for a number of years, I would definitely recommend it.

I am a Canadian too. I have subscribed to both Style at Home & Canadian House & Home for years. I love them both, but they each have their own identity. Canadian House & Home shows more "over the top" houses, sometimes of Canadians living abroad, like the home of Janet Jones & Wayne Gretsky. The bones of the houses it features often have custom moldings, high ceilings and large windows. Style at Home often features more middle class style homes wherein the decor is what makes the rooms so fab. Style at Home also often features Sarah Richardson's projects. These 2 mags are my absolute fav home decor mags. No other shelter mags on the market are like them. I could sum it up this way: Canadian House & Home mag is my 'fantasy' mag because the rooms are all fantasy rooms that I love to look at but could never afford. Style at Home is the 'real life' mag where each room is gorgeous and gives you inspiration & hope for things you can achieve in your home on your real life budget.

I mean, obvy they don't have kids....but if I close my eyes...in my dream house, neither do I. =)

Summer said...

Okay, my mistake....they DO have kids!

That is insane with all that white and children. They need to tell their secrets!!!

Either that or they are prop children. lol

Style at Home is a great magazine. The pages are always filled with great interiors, their food and entertaining section is delish, and most importantly they make everything easily attainable.

Margot Austin has a great little blog, she is one of the Sr design editors there.. I so enjoy her easy breezy blog..

Canadian girl here too! I've subscribed to Style at Home for about 20 years - it's fantastic!

So many people are commenting on all the white - I've had white slipcovered sofas for years with a dog who's on them all the time even with muddy paws and I wouldn't own anything else! Slip them off - wash them and they're like new. No other sofa fabric can live up to that!
