Finding Fabrics

I'll be honest with you, I've had a rough time finding interesting and unique patterned fabrics in local shops here in Las Vegas. We lack so many things & seem to be behind in design trends. So I find myself shopping online when I want stylish & colorful fabrics or going to shops like Michaels or JoAnnes to buy inexpensive pieces.  Does anyone else have a hard time finding great fabric in their town?? Below are some cushions and fabrics I found on Flickr as well as Etsy that i really like!

  1. Oooh nice post!! I find great fabrics on Ebay. They are there if you keep going back.

  2. Beautiful pictures! I actually was really surprised at the selection of fabrics JoAnn's carried at a store near me. Michael's, on the other hand, was a big disappointment.

  6. Anna, I also found a few fabrics on EBAY, and yes you have to go back and keep looking for good ones. Eventually they pop up. I was surprised to find they had some great varieties.

  9. These are gorgeous fabrics! I've also heard that Etsy is a good place to find fabrics. Have you checked out http://www.reprodepot.com ? Maybe the next time you come to NY you can go down to the Fashion District and pick up some scraps. :)

  14. Quilt stores sometimes have a great selection of different prints (MUCH better than JoAnn or Michaels). That's what purlsoho and reprodepot are. I'd also try googling a fabric line you like and see what other quilt stores you can find online. You also probably have a few in Las Vegas that are worth checking out. They have such nicer fabric and so much better designs. Good luck!

  18. No, I used to have trouble finding fabric here in Utica, NY but, they're are many antique shops that carry so much of the vintage fabrics that at the end you are overwhelmed and don't know what to get because they are great
