I've always been drawn to creative people. Trixiedelicious is all about being creative! Take a PEEK at some of their other vintage plates & cups and you'll see what I mean.Did people just get more & more creative as the years went by?? I don't remember anything like this when I was a young girl. Stuff like this is appearing everywhere, from headboards, note cards to dishware. I think its great!

Raphael is a self-taught illustrator who works out of Brussels, Belgium. He is one of my top 3 FAVORITE illustrators. To me, his work is exceptional, emotional & raw... & I sooooo wish he'd send me a FREE print. : ) Here are a few of the ones I LOVE......I wanted to share with you. Please visit his awesome site at My Dead Pony to see many, many, many more of his beautiful pieces. AND yes, they are for sale!!(Have a lovely weekend)!
Kids are capable of amazing creativity. I truly believe decorating your child's bedroom with blackboards, alphabets, art, books, etc. is a great way to encourage learning. Here are a few of my favorite KIDS rooms I gathered for those looking for inspiration!
Thank you to everyone who left a HAPPY BIRTHDAY comment, it was soooo very nice of you! I had a great B-day and am already looking forward to next weekend. ha! I know its only Monday.... Anyhow, I recently launched some new cards (all blank inside) on MadeByGirl and here are some better photos of them. All cards are available via MadeByGirl.
I've been seeing a lot more 'chalkboards' in design magazines & online. I admit I LOVE this trend so much I had to get one for myself. BUT I didn't want to go out & buy one (usually have to get it custom made) so, I decided to do a DIY- with a little man power on the painting and sanding! Anyhow, the wood I used was a 2'x6' laminated piece of pine that cost me $18 at Home Depot. I then used black 'chalkboard paint' by Rustoleum (comes in black or a choice of 12 other colors). The end result is in this photo below hanging in a corner area of my kitchen!
My results weren't as smooth. It would've been smoother if I had used liquid nails & glue a sheet of HDF (high density fiberboard) to the top of the pine board. Then paint that instead of the wood. But, In the end, the way I did it, saved me $$$ & still looks pretty good don't you think ???
P.S. I couldn't resist, I had to have the Union Jack smacked onto it. My boy, Danny wanted to be in this shot as you can see.
* I also bought this cute vintage framed chalkboard from Blue Bell Bazaar on Etsy. This one will go in my office so I can write all the things I need to do! Great way to 'NOT' waste paper!
So, what do you think about this chalkboard trend? Would you place one in your home? Do you think it would be beneficial in anyway to you?
I enjoyed sharing my wallpaper finds in a previous post, but my favorite was the frames one! I reallyLOVE it! This one below is from Graham & Brown and although I don't think its the same one in my previous post here, its quite similar. Does anyone have this G & B frames wallpaper in their home?? or something similar?? I ACTUALLY had one made for my booth at 'National Stationery' show earlier this year and it came out pretty damn nice! (2nd photo below) I guess it was DIY project in way. I decided to use it to make my cards appear as if they were inside the frames..!

how many design options we have for our homes these days?? In fact, we have more options then ever before to spice up & decorate our homes. For me, ILOVE the idea of adding interesting looking wallpaper behind a bed or in the dining area like in some of these photographs below.Have you ever added wallpaper to your home for an interesting effect? And I don't mean in 1977, I mean anytime recently? ha!
