Carrie's Beautiful Michigan Loft - on the market...

Carrie over at Pattern of Life blog was sweet enough to share photos of her loft-style home with us. Coincidentally, her home is also on the market as we speak! Both Carrie & her husband reside in the West Michigan area in a neighborhood with a pretty large Dutch settlement as well as some of the best industrial design companies. This well-maintained loft is also 2 1/2 hours from Chi-Town, for those of you wondering.....

A little info about their place: built in 1903 in an existing alley way. Large- all white, built in book shelf, modern appliances, sky light in kitchen, hardwood floors, exposed brick walls throughout. One of the brick walls has some black paint, it was an old advertisement that they discovered when they knocked the mortar off the walls while gutting the place. The sign continues downstairs into the commercial space. (You can see this in some of the photos) Very original. So for those of you looking to buy in Michigan & would like to take a peek at their place, or for more info, contact Carrie via her blog.

Shauna & Stephen. The Loft. The Work Studio.

Something's Hiding In Here duo, Shauna & Stephen, are a talented, young couple living in a fantastic loft in Philly. They are the type of people that LOVE to use creativity in their work. And as you can see below, creativity isn't lacking in their home either! The items they make also reflect their style....from refinished furniture to an indoor porch swing! In fact, most of the items in their place have been DIY Projects! Nice right? Not only is this where they live, but it's also the studio where they produce all their goodies. For more on this lovely loft visit their blog here and Flickr page.

I LOVE Creative People....

Apartment Therapy always impresses me with their content, this one in particular caught my eye. Perhaps because its such a creative space ... Situated in Los Angeles this 1,200 sq. ft loft was built in 1905. However, this wasn't a residential space back then, it was the Pacific Electric Building, a space used as a terminal and an office for the downtown streetcar operations. Get this, It was supposedly LA's first skyscraper, wow!! To see more go here.

For me, decorating a space with your own art (art that you made) is so personal and meaningful. I have quite a few pieces in my own home that I painted.
The couple that lives here, Anne Faith Nicolls & Jacob Arden McClure are great artists as you will see throughout their loft. Great job to both of them for making this space their own. To see more go

Top Notch Soho Loft

I came across this awesome LOFT rental from one of my favorite neighborhoods in New York City, SOHO. When I lived in NYC for 10 years I would walk through this neighborhood for shopping and to check out the amazing architectural details of some of these buildings. Soho has so many little boutiques, cafes and art galleries. However to own property here you have to have some kind of
DINERO (money) because most of the real estate here is sky high $$$ and boy are some of these places worth it! Looking at these pictures makes me really miss NYC! It would be a DREAM of mine to own a place like this! Supposedly this rental goes for $950/night and it is about 2500 sq ft.! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. These pics are from NYC Tourist.
