Happy Monday!! It's Anna here, How's everyone?? Today I'm sharing a little Rit dye DIY. If you've never used it before, don't worry... this was my very 1st time working with it, and it wasn't difficult. I am loving all things maroon for Fall, so I felt it appropriate to pick their lovely burgundy color called "wine."
With my dye, a bucket and a pair of pants in hand, I got to work. This is easy people. I'm telling you...
Following the directions on the container of dye, add the appropriate amount of dye to water.
Submerge.
Wearing a glove (or in my case a plastic bag) rotate and mix the contents of the bucket.
After 30 - 60 minutes of soaking in dye, rinse thoroughly.
Now, here I let the pants dry and then did a 2nd round of dye to get the rich burgundy color that I was going for.
Done. They are the perfect Fall skinnies. I think you need a pair too.

I think you just gave me the push I needed to try dyeing something myself! The color is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is so creative, and who knew it could be so easy? I may just need to put some of my old jeans to good use and try this out. Thanks for the tutorial!
ReplyDeleteBurgundy must be on the brain for everyone this fall! I just posted about burgundy (and showed some sweet burgundy skinnies) in my post today. Saw a lot of other blogs on the same topic. I love the idea of dying some white jeans! xoxo www.styleoyster.blogspot.com

I definitely need to try this!
ReplyDeleteI've used Rit dye before, and never had good results. I usually use black, and everything ends up a dingy grey color. I always follow the directions on the box to the letter, and have even tried with less water than they recommend hoping the color would be less diluted, but everything comes out faded. I tried the Rose pink color once, and the color was not even. I'm surprised you got such good results.
ReplyDeletePerfect fall color!

I bought some Rit Dye about 6 months ago with the expectation of dying a canvas/cotton jacket I have to freshen it up.
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting, it has inspired me to actually break the seal : )
I DO need a pair too! They came out gorgeous and so perfect for fall!!
ReplyDeleteThey look so good in the new color. I'm going to have to see what I have that I might be able to refresh in a new color.
ReplyDeleteI love that color! It is so right for fall! I need to try this out, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou could never have too many colored skinnies in your closet, can ya? :)
I recommend soaking them in vinegar to set the color. Then you can wash it with your other colors in the future without worrying about it bleeding onto the rest of your clothes!
ReplyDeleteLove the color! I may need to dig up some old jeans & try it out.
ReplyDeletego for the glam
i love this! I now have to do this!
