Feeling Better...

Sorry I wasn't around yesterday- but I hope everyone had a great weekend!

A lot of you thought that I was SICK- as in a COLD...but in reality my back got hurt.

While vacuuming my bathroom yesterday with a dirt devil, I leaned over & then got back up & BAM!!!!  O-M-Gosh....my back felt like someone had punched it!!!  I needed to lie down right away!  So, I was in bed most of the day yesterday & now only have a minor pain to my right when I move too fast.  I remember how I used to (back in the days) take my health for GRANTED - not anymore!  These days I thank God for another day of life that I get to enjoy with the people I love (& doggies too).

When I feel sick I pray for better health & try not to complain or be grumpy - because I know there is always someone out there who is worse off than me.

So today I am more than grateful for my health & the 'get well' comments that were left & emailed to me, THANK YOU.

Isn't it a pain in the neck growing OLD ???  Well, my guy (who works out often) immediately told me I have to strengthen up my core muscles asap... so that is what I intend to do!

  1. Glad you are feeling better! Pilates works wonders for the core and is a fun workout. I'm completely addicted to it!

  2. eek, i know the feeling! I have suuuuch a bad back. My doctor has made me strengthen my core and do pilates, along with sleeping with a special pillow and now sleeping on my stomach, and its still bad! feel better! and PS- biofreeze works wonderfully for aches and pains! you can get a knock off at Walmart and it basically takes the pain away and feels icy cool and minty on your body!

  5. Glad you are feeling better - I know the pain! I would recommend a chiropractor - I see one regularly and started getting massages after an adjustment about once a month or so. Its great and I do it on a Friday to end my week! ;-)

  9. Add me to the list of pilates enthusiasts. But a set of a few stretches and strengthening exercises will also do wonders. I had a similar injury a few years ago (prepping a wall for painting!) and went to PT for the first time. Highly recommend.

  13. how strange. i've been battling the same thing all week! literally couldn't stand up straight on sunday night - i had to crawl to and from. i'd have to second the chiropractor comment (and the strengthening your core comment). if you can find a reputable one that you trust, it's well worth it. i'll be going somewhat regularly from now on.....

hope you're back at it by now! i am, but slowly.... ox

  15. Pilates is the best. I love to play tennis and its kind of hard on your back muscles. But with even one pilates lesson a week I don't need to worry about backpain at all!

  16. Glad you are feeling better Jen! My husband developed an easy to do exercise program for back strengthening which is a combination of specifically targeted stretches and exercises derived from Yoga, Pilates, and his own personal experiences
as trainer and coach. I think you may like it.

p.s: This program is yet to be launched to the public, so you get a nice sneak peek preview. I think you'll love it. xo, Aline
