My 6 Louis Chairs Arrived.....

My Louis chairs have arrived and even though you only see 4 here, there are 6 of them! I was just getting a feel of how they looked. Anyhow, I'll be deciding this week on what they'll look like. I'm SERIOUSLY leaning toward PAINTING them all white with a faux/patent leather white seat for easy cleaning! I may even add a few decorative tacks along the edge of the seat area!

I'm ALSO still wondering if I should keep the table....what do you think???

On another note,  I may be MOVING within the next couple months (crossing fingers), so hopefully this AWFUL rug you see in the pic....will NOT be where this table ends up & the clustered frames on the wall, will be changed to something else!  New place, new decor!

  2. Your chairs look fab!! I still love your table, I guess it depends on how your chairs will look....also a lovely round table would be amazing too

  3. Agree -- white faux leather and decorative tacks would look awesome!

Isn't the prospect of a new apartment to decorate exciting? Almost exciting enough to help you forget the prospect of packing :)

  4. Oh they are stunning! I love them. I think white leather would be great. Maybe do a faux ostrich fabric to add a little bit of texture, but still easy clean up.

  12. All white chair would look great and you could keep the table as they will go perfectly. Warwick fabrics have faux ostrich and croc leather under their Lustrell range but they are an Australian company. Wish I could help you with a US supplier. Good Luck!

  21. Jen..they are awesome..but very gold arent they...I think painting them white will look fab! I still love that table...but Im unsure as to wheither the two fit well together..perhaps after you paint the chairs you may get a better feel for what works. Cant wait to see the finished results xo

  23. I love the chairs and I do think the white paint on them would be divine! Go for it!

  24. I like the direction you're going with the chairs. I'd like a couple of those for my home! For faux ostrich fabric, try fabric.com They have in in various colors.

  25. Yes white faux leather upholstery and white paint would look great! What about painting the surface of your table white and changing the base to steel? I think the edgy look of the steel and the traditional look of the chairs would look incredible together!

  26. I think that the chairs will match the table nicely if you paint them white. I'm having difficulty visualising the fabric for the chairs... I think it would look lovely, but not sure if that combo would match with the existing table?

  27. Those look like they are in perfect condition. Awesome get! I love the table, but not loving it for those chairs. The height of the chair back isn't flowing with the thick dark top of the table. Love the legs of the table with the chairs though. My two cents would be to be on the hunt to get a larger rectangular or oval table.

  31. Hey Jen-

Sorry, I didn't know you were asking for a place to get the faux croc/ostrich leather in your first post concerning the chairs. Here's where I got the fabric for my project (which I will be revealing this or next week)...

    www.interiormall.com/cat/ndisplaycoll.asp?c1=Fabric&c2=&c3=&book=798&pgcnt=48&color=White&wt=

Hope that helps...let me know how it goes. ( =

  32. I say scrap the table. The chairs call for a more elegant, glitzy table.

    ReplyDelete
  33. STEPHANIE: Yea I think I may get a rectangular table...a circular table won't work for 6 chairs in my opinion. :)) thanks!

  34. I can't believe you're going to replace this super gold to white!

White is modern and simple which we find quite often these days and gold looks like in old Royal palaces. May be stay with gold? ;)

  39. These chairs are so lovely... I can't wait to see what you do with them. I think they'll look perfect with the table you have once they're painted white.

  40. I think the chairs are great but the table seems a bit small for them I also think that a round table would look great with them you can always use the other two chairs somewhere else in the house and bring them out as needed. Great buy!

    ReplyDelete
  41. BRI: I am also thinking the table may be too small ...am looking for a new table now :) thanks for your input!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Loving the chairs! I definitely think painting them white would look amazing! Your table is beautiful but might be a tad small... what a shame. But the options are endless! : )

  43. WILL: Thanks so much! I've moved so many times , but this one might be the biggest move...as I've acquired so many things since the last time i moved.

  44. I would paint the golden part of the chairs in the color of the tabletop.

I don't like to sit on leather. In the summer you hang out in mini shorts or skirts, and then leather sticks on your legs, I hate that feeling.

But I would leave the sitting white...

Ok, so this was my idea!

  49. COURTNEY: thx! I bought the table at a local consignment shop. I'm going to sell it because I think I need something bigger with these chairs.

  50. Hey Jen,

Great score with those chairs! As for mixing, totally depends what you want to play up. If you want a modern contrast, I could totally see you pairing them with one of the glossy white tables from my post today.
Or you could go more rustic. I love the combination of Louis chairs with Restoration Hardware's Flatiron table and the Kitchen table version is a good size and price.

Or maybe West Elm's Modern Farm Table? Not sure about those with the leather though.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

  53. NAOMI: I really love that table by restoration hardware...am really considering it, thanks soooo much!

  54. I think they are beutiful as they are. I would wait until the age and then replace the seat cover with patent leather. The table is nice but doesnt do much for the chairs. A nice runner of table clth could change that.
