Whenever I think of Malaysia, I don't often think of gorgeous homes....instead I think of beautiful beaches and vacation getaways. So, when I came across this home via the New York Times I was taken aback! I am also really impressed by the artwork as well as the furniture within this apartment...and I bet the view from that balcony is breathtaking. The owners of this condo are quite fortunate indeed!
Does anyone out there live in Malaysia? or stayed in a gorgeous place in Malaysia? Let us know what your experience has been like there?
I don't think this home is the typical home a tourist would rent...It is modern and at first one may think it is located in London or Switzerland. ...It is quite gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWOW...that is one amazing place and the view is to die for:)
ReplyDeleteWish you a wonderuful weekend:)
Kisses
I'd never think of Malaysia seing those pictures. It's modern and has a clean style. Great home.
ReplyDeleteLove that tile in the kitchen! Amazing!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the large window by the bath... ahhh, Calgon take me away!!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a view from the bathroom - Love the clean lines...I would have said it was in Europe had you not stated it was in Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful apartment but solely for expats, no?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful home and decor! I want to go to Malaysia

ReplyDeletehey there babes!
ReplyDeletegreat post here! (well wut i;ve been waiting for actually)
i've been reading ur blog for the past 3 years.. and i wonder if someday there will be a post bout mine.. or my country =)
we have different culture here..
the chinese might following their fung shui.. the indian would have certain rules to deco their home and the malay too.. but its interesting when everyone is having a different trends! u should come here and u'll found diff kind of trends..and colourful decos. well we've been reading other western blogs. trying to adapt the modern concepts out there to our home.. somehow the wheather here in malaysia limits us to have certain decos i.e those white coloured wood furniture which will turned out to be yellow in the upcoming years..=) thats part of it.. =)
Beautiful... and I always love a tub with a great view!
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of Malaysia, I think of Zoolander, but that could just be me. Maybe I need to think of that beautiful space instead!
ReplyDeletehi there. i'm Malaysian, and yes, contrary to popular belief, our country now boasts some rather lovely homes + architecture. more so, in recent years. growing up with an architect dad, i've always loved architecture, interiors + art in general. what's plentiful here is fusion of our cultural roots - influences from the 3 main races; the Malays, Chinese + Indians - with that of Western design.
ReplyDeletethis particular home, a gorgeous one, no less, is from a high-end apartment block in the KLCC area, with great views of the parks + buildings surrounding it (one of my dad's buildings lies in this KLCC area).
.............
you've a lovely blog. lots of inspiring eye-candy. :-)
do visit my humble blog too sometime.

ReplyDeleteThank you for reading my blog :)
Interesting insight on Malaysia....I know there are limitations to the way people live in certain countries due to weather as well as NOT being able to get certain items shipped out there. I'm sure I would really miss the BIG furniture stores here in the US if I ever stayed in Malaysia...

ReplyDeleteYes, I hear the KLCC area is a great area and that one would find this type of condo there...I bet its breathtaking in person. Thank you for your comment & I'll take a look at your blog as well! oxox
omg AMAZING! so gorgeous. my older sister is actually moving to malaysia in sept/oct. shes searching for condos right now, and shes basing her decision off how nice the pool is ;) haha.
ReplyDeletehave always loved ur blog btw!
I'm from Malaysia too and that condo is great! Definitely catered to expats and cost a bomb on rental alone cause it's right smack in the middle of the city.
ReplyDeleteI lurveee that painting in the hallway. Very BOND like.
My family lived in Malaysia when I was younger, so I wasn't shocked by the clean lines in the condo. Although yes, people typically think of Europe, NY or LA. Many people in southeast asian culture love a simple, tidy space with few "knick knacks". Beautiful images, thank you for sharing, it brought back fond memories of a gorgeous country with wonderful people. *Amy
ReplyDeleteGreat Post Jen. My parents and all of my extended family are from Malaysia. I spent a lot of time there every year growing up. It's a very underrated place. The only real downside I can think of is the humidity. Otherwise, the islands are gorgeous, the food is fantastic and all at reasonable prices compared to the rest of the world. Penang (an island to the north of Malaysia) is becoming a popular place for Brits to retire to as well and although it's a Muslim country - it's moderate. Meaning that in their every day life, it's commonly accepted that there are also Christians and all kinds of other religions that are practiced there. Whoever designed the condo has great taste! Personally, I go back for the islands, shopping and most of all the Food!!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Karen O.
I agree with Karen on the great places and great prices. I'll be going back next month and probably in Dec/Jan as well. And speaking of retirement. I know a few retired people living there. Malaysia has a great retirement program called Malaysia My Second Home. I keep meaning to blog about it myself and this just reminded too so, check it out here: http://annaelizabethpoole.blogspot.com/2010/08/retire-in-malaysia.html

Love your blog jen. It's pleasant and when i'm stressed at work i log on to your blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Malaysian. Yes, Malaysia has beautiful beaches and forest reserves, but we also have modern architecture in most of the commercial areas of the country.
You've got to come down some time. i arrange a lot of tours for Americans and Europeans in Malaysia. It's a shopping paradise here. Do email me if you'd like to come over !
